I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I have to say -- it's easily one of the most incredible places I've ever been to. From start to finish, everything about it left a lasting impression, and it might just be the most unforgettable restaurant experience I've ever had.

Right when I stepped inside, I saw the light -- literally and emotionally. The beautiful interior instantly caught my eye and left me speechless. I was amazed at how a restaurant could feel so incredible just because of its design and atmosphere. The warm lighting, the elegant decor, and the cozy layout all came together in a way that made the space feel both welcoming and special. The moment I walked in, I didn't just feel like a customer -- I felt like I had arrived exactly where I was meant to be. It was clear that this wasn't just a place to eat; it was a place to experience.

The service was just as impressive as the interior -- warm, welcoming, and full of care. From the moment I walked in, the staff made sure I was comfortable, happy, and had everything I needed. They checked in just the right amount, always polite and respectful. What stood out was how quickly the food came out. Normally, when I go to restaurants, I expect a bit of a wait, but not here. Balkh Shish Kabab House consistently brings the food out fresh and fast, without ever sacrificing quality. They know how to respect your time and your taste buds.

The best part was their food. The food was just the right amount of warm, and right when I took a bite out of their famous mantu, I thought I was dreaming. I don't usually love dumplings, I only like them, but the way these tasted, oh, I couldn't believe it at all. I am usually not a big fan of rice, but the way they made it changed my mind. I usually am a big fan of lamb, but the way they made it here just boosted how much I like it. It was tender, juicy. Flavorful, all you can think of.

Overall, I cannot describe how good this was if I could, I would eat here every...

I am a very picky eater and I review resturants very critically and this place failed to impress me. There food is very good but thats about it. We came for Iftar during Ramadan and boy is it busy. We did not eat until 30+ minutes after athan. We showed up 30 minutes before too. They had this sad area to pray Maghrib like seriously your an Afghan resturant during Ramadan at least have prayer mats. Their seating is uncomfortable none of us liked their chairs. The seating is cramped. Their forks, knifes, and spoons are clean but they are so scratched it made us uncomfortable using them. When they were cleaning a neighboring table the put the used plates and soda cans on our table. I wish they had a napkin dispenser on the tables instead of having to ask the workers for napkins. They did not send us 3 of the items we ordered even though we reminded them 3 times. In the end we decided too just not care and told them to remove it from our order. It took us telling them 5 times to give us the bill until we finally got it. Overall the food is good but the place is cramped and expect to wait a while...

A Hidden Gem of Flavor and Warmth – Balkh Kebab House is a Must-Try!

Balkh Kebab House is an absolute delight! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the comforting aroma of authentic Afghan cuisine. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and perfect for a casual meal or a cozy dinner with friends and family.

The food? Incredible. Every dish is made with care and packed with flavor. The kebabs are perfectly grilled—tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. I highly recommend the chicken and lamb kebabs, but honestly, everything on the menu is a hit. The rice is fragrant and fluffy, the naan is fresh and warm, and the chutneys add a perfect kick of spice and freshness.

What I especially love is how healthy and hearty the food is. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and the balance of protein, grains, and vegetables makes for a satisfying and nourishing meal.

If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious, authentic food with a side of genuine hospitality, Balkh Kebab House is the spot. Highly...

I ordered for a pickup and specifically mentioned no carrots and raisins yet they still put it in there. This was not the first time they made this mistake. I ordered 3 kabli combo and 2 beef and chicken combo. I posted the pictures, the portion size is horrible. See the chicken and beef combo, barely any meat but overflown with rice. The kabli combo is good however messing up orders every time is horrible. Overflown with raisin and carrots when I specifically said not to. Also, beware you are supposed to get salad with the combo but they won’t tell you that, you gotta ask for that. Poor service, quality definitely dropped big time There are other better afghan spots, spend your money there.

BEST AFGHAN FOOD IN THE CITY. …wow. No words. I’ve heard raving reviews but man did this exceed the hype. Coming from a pasthun background I like to think I know the cuisine and man oh man it did not disappoint. The kabuli plau is cooked so well and the meat is the most succulent you’ll ever have. The bolani ia crisped to perfection. The bread is so fresh. Such a quaint and beautiful ambiance. You’re greeted with grandiose yet traditional seating. The prices are AMAZING especially in comparison to the portion sizes. Owner and Staff are so nice and welcoming. They’ve been open in the same location for OVER 28 YEARS and it’s no surprise!! 🇦🇫🇦🇫
