As of writing, Figlia is a fairly new, somewhat romantic-feeling pizza and pasta restaurant in Astoria. I'd say they're off to a great start because the food is genuinely DELICIOUS. The Cacio e Pepperoni pizza begged to be devoured, a well-balanced cheese and pepperoni pie bubbling below creamy lines of fior di latte (I think? Or maybe it was the whipped ricotta?) It somehow had the best qualities of both "so good I know I shouldn't be eating this" and "surprisingly refreshing, maybe this is even healthy!" (It isn't, really - well, maybe for your spirit.) The Burrata & Pomodoro pie was excellent as well. This place has some stiff competition from one of my favorite pizza places just a couple of blocks away, Tufino's, but it truly holds its own (albeit at a slightly higher price point). Especially if you're looking for a bit more of a romantic vibe - for better or worse the decor is quite restrained. The lighting is great and the quality of the tables and glassware are noteworthy. It's not pretentious - and maybe you'd argue the decor is even a bit on the boring side - but again, it's good atmosphere for a date. The service was great. My two minor complaints are drink related: the beer menu is pretty pathetic (only IPA is the Founders All Day IPA which I didn't feel like paying what they were asking for) so I ordered a drink that used that beer as an ingredient. I'm not big into mixed drinks, but it sounded interesting - I asked if it was sweet? They said they could make it "less sweet." It was still hella sweet. Probably should have just got the beer. Oh well.

Walked in on a Saturday evening for dinner with no reservations (it is walk-in only), and immediately were seated in the corner bench by the wood-fire oven. Always pleasant greetings from the host and service teams. We went for the Mortadella (one of my faves) and for the first time tried the Sausage pizza. The sausage pizza was not overpowered with sausage or pesto, all were in perfect balance with the cherry tomatoes. Mortadella pizza delicious, love that they toast the pistachios! Delicious fluffy crust, thin, love the pizza! Also tried the Chive Spaghetti, which was different, not too much flavor but more cheese can fix that. The stars for me are the pizzas, they don't miss on ANY of their pizzas. Service is always pleasant, professional and so fast. Staff is very attentive without making you feel rushed. Always a neighborhood goodie!

Definitely the best Neopolitan pizza in Astoria, and the best Amatriciana I have ever had. The owner Ricardo is an ubermensch - super generous and friendly, and Luis behind the bar is always so welcoming and engaging - and he makes some killer cocktails. The margherita pizza is absolutely perfect - the dough is perfectly seasoned and never comes out floppy or soggy. The sauce is light and fresh. The balance of ingredients couldn’t be better. The cacio e pepe pizza is definitely worth trying. The amatriciana and radiatore pastas are amazing but all the pastas are delicious. The grilled octopus rivals any Greek restaurant in Astoria. The meatballs melt in your mouth. HIGHLY recommended!

Figlia is an absolute gem when it comes to brick-oven pizza, and I can confidently say that it's the best I've ever had. What sets Figlia apart is not just the exceptional quality of their ingredients or the perfectly cooked crust; it's the little details that make their pizzas unforgettable.

One of those delightful details is the Hot Honey that they provide as a side. It's like a flavor explosion that tops off every slice with a sweet and spicy kick that takes the taste to a whole new level.

That dough - it's a masterpiece. It manages to strike that elusive balance between crunchy and not too crunchy, which is a hallmark of truly exceptional brick-oven pizza. It's incredible how they achieve this texture consistently, and it's something not many places can replicate.

Their pasta is as authentic as it gets, a true taste of Italy.

The ambiance at Figlia is simply enchanting. The light green walls and carefully chosen furniture create an atmosphere that is both comfortable and cozy, making it the perfect place to savor their delicious cuisine. The soft, inviting hues of green lend a refreshing and relaxed feel to the dining space.

In summary, Figlia is a culinary treasure. If you're a pizza enthusiast or just someone who appreciates the finer points of Italian cuisine, you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit. The combination of the best brick-oven pizza, the unforgettable Hot Honey, and authentic Italian pasta makes Figlia worth every visit and every...

Amazing new Italian/Pizza restaurant in Ditmars! I was excited to try this place before they officially opened. I came here on a random Thursday night with two other people. The place is small only about 7-8 tables plus a beautiful bar space that seats an additional 6-10 people. Before I got there I called and was told a table was finishing up and we could wait at the bar. When we got there we only waited about 5 minutes before our table was cleared for us. We got the Burrata and Pomodoro - Burrata cheese, cherry tomatoes and garlic confit (the garlic was the best part ! ) the crust was chewy, thin and crispy on the edge. The cherry tomatoes burst in my mouth! I was disappointed at first that it didn't have tomato sauce but the cherry tomatoes totally made up for it! Octopus appetizer - this was pretty standard , it was good but nothing exceptional, the beans on the bottom were a lightly dressed cold bean salad. Spaghetti aglio e olio - delicious! hand made pasta, al dente and super simple but did not skimp on flavor. Some people might feel this is on the "bland" side, but I loved it! Good quality food shines without too much salt. Rigatoni Bolognese - my boyfriend loved this! Said he would definitely order again if he came back

Portions are not crazy big I think they are perfect. Keeps you coming...
