Big Tiny? There is nothing tiny in taste to this place. It's only been open for 7 months, they make a huge impression in the quality and flavor off their food. The place is kind of tiny. It seats 16 people comfortably without the bar seats.
The place is rustic and romantic at the same time. They play eclectic and upbeat music and puts you in the mood to eat. The place was a video store before and they accomodate a kitchen and enough space for people to come and have a romantic evening with French food. The partners Dominic and Benjamin did a fine job with this place. They also have a Mex French place close by. I have not been there yet, but if this place is a model, I need to go to the other restaurant as well.
Started with the chowder which was really delicious followed by the salad and tuna tartare. The tuna had a small kick too it...not too much, just enough to excite the mouth! Also tried the steak tartare which is excellent. It also had a small kick to it..but not too much! Now...the main thing to get is the Cassoulet. The Cassoulet is a wonderful dish. It consists of a slow cooked casserole orginating in the south of France containing meat, pork and white beans. Dominic is an expert In wines and most customers who come in ask him to choose what they will drink. I have a feeling anything you pick from the menu will be good. I need to return to this...
Read moreWe went the second night they opened. It's run by the people who own Jolie Cantina so they are very experienced in this cute pocket of a restaurant. The service is friendly and very French in a charming way.
The food is well executed and seemingly reasonably priced. It comes from a small, but efficient kitchen. Dishes were tiny which made sense for the tapas-like small plates called tiny bites.
We had the escargot with was typically garlicky and buttery served with bread. Loved the beef carpaccio with cheese and aioli. My dining companion enjoyed his heirloom salad. I had a bite of his cassoulet which was very tasty with luscious chunks of short ribs. It was categorized as a big bite and not big enough in contrast to the tinier plates. The Nicoise salad had a bit of a poke vibe with raw tuna. Nice, fresh and light for summer dinner. The French pizza is just a flour tortilla with toppings. I wouldn't order that again.
The lemon tart dessert was also fairly small, but maybe desserts at other places are too big?
Good spot...
Read moreA friend and I were able to walk in at about 7pm on a Wednesday night (the night before Thanksgiving, I should add!) and we were immediately greeted by the staff and given a choice of whatever open table they had.
The vibe was warm and cozy, and you could tell that the crowd was a crowd of regulars who were enjoying time with their loved ones over great food and wine. I picture myself spending a lot of time here as the weather is cooling down.
I got a glass of one of their red wine specials (apologies for not remembering the name!). The menu has so many good options but we landed on the croquettes, the filet mignon carpaccio, the cassoulet, raviolini, and potato gratin, all of which we split. It’s difficult to pick favorites as all were fantastic and cooked to perfection. Don’t expect a quick meal as everything was prepared fresh and is homemade.
The service was spectacular. This is the perfect place to bring loved ones - whether it be friends, family, or lovers - and enjoy wonderful food and conversation. Overall,...
