I had an awful experience at this hotel restaurant on Saturday night. I was in a group of 9 and we made a 7pm reservation. When we arrived, we were seated in the very back section of booths and we were the only party in that section. This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had… ever.
First off, the food was extremely disappointing—portions were what you would typically find from a kids menu, and the quality was far below what you’d expect for the price. A $42 steak should not be the size of a child’s hand with a droplett of what was advertised as “blue cheese.” One of the steaks was so tiny, we had to send it back. I had the pork shop which was severely overcooked and chewy. To make matters worse, one of the entrees we ordered was completely forgotten. By the time my friend got his branzino, the rest of us were almost done with our food.
The service was even worse than the food. It took about 20 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders upon arrival, and she probably came around to our table about 3 more times after that the entire night. She barely checked in with us, didn’t talk to us outside of taking our order, and never even gave us her name. We had to repeatedly ask multiple staff members for basic things like water refills and place settings, and it took an average of 15 minutes just to get these requests fulfilled. Every time we tried to get the waitresses attention she had her head down or was looking the other direction. I’ve never felt intentionally ignored like this at a restaurant and it honestly felt like we were getting pranked with how awful the service was. I can’t believe we had to pay a 20% tip for this place!
Overall, this place was a complete letdown. I’ve had a way better experience at the Applebees in Times Square, for a third...
Read moreWorst experience ever. I see how this restaurant is almost out of business because of the service and food. For several years I used to come to this restaurant. Now this is the last time here. I Can assure you that the lack of management, service and a real chef made this restaurant to be one of the worst ever.
The experience comes from the beginning where I had to get up in order for our order to be taken from the server. Only two tables were occupied at that time and the rest of the restaurant was empty.
The service kept getting worse. Server without experience, the helper was the same.
Food went from extremely good to bad.
Drinks took hours to come.
On top of that we were applied 20% of gratuity for a service that we did not receive.
Every single word I had to take from the server was almost taken with a spoon because the lack of communication she had with the table was awful.
I remember the days when bowery road was full of people, great servers, good management and excellent food.
The lack of management is incredibly noticeable.
I did really have an awful experience and not even a free meal would even make me change this review.
I can definitely see this restaurant going out of business if they do not take any...
Read moreThe food we ordered, which sadly we werent able to get pictures of the Eggplant Parmesan, USQ Market Grain Bowl, Grilled Pork Chop, Roasted Broccoli, Pumpkin Cheesecake, and Chocolate Pot de Creme, because we dug right in. They were all just tasty, perfectly seasoned & balanced, for lack of a better word to describe the flavors mixed in together. The braised cabbage in the Grilled Pork Chop, for example, was truly braised well and just enough that it still retained its crunchiness. There wasnt a lot of white bean fondue, but it was good enough mix of flavor with the bacon mustard vinaigrette, which satisfied my cravings for bacon without actually eating pieces of bacon at breakfast. They were just enough mix, and oh the pork chop was delightful. I could eat a whole order by myself. Full disclosure - i am a carnivore, and i go for meat over seafood & veggies eap when that meat is flavored incredibly:-). I knocked off a star (would be half a star knocked off if that was possible) because i found the Market Grain Bowl kind of dry:-(. It had a flavor, but it wasnt memorable for me. But then that was probably because the pork chop and eggplant parmesan, which had an unbelievable tasty tomato sauce in it, ruined my palate for the...
