I stumbled upon this hidden gem after a failed attempt at another restaurant, and I'm so glad I did! The two young ladies behind the bar were super sweet, and the atmosphere was simple but charming—with exposed brick, which I love (honestly, I'm over those grass walls that are everywhere). We walked in and were immediately greeted, though they didn’t have any tables available, so we grabbed seats at the bar. The place is small but feels spacious.
The food options were great (though I’m terrible at taking pictures of my food because I’m always too hungry and forget). I won’t eat at another Manhattan restaurant again—no matter what you order, it always comes out cold. But here? The food came out hot, piping hot. We got a pitcher of rum punch, and the price was perfect for the size and the amount of liquor in it.
We also tried the honey jerk wings with fries. The fries were well-seasoned without being salty, and the honey-to-jerk seasoning ratio was the best I’ve had since the pandemic! It was perfectly balanced, and the wings were just so good. I had the fish and shrimp grits, and my best friend had the shrimp grits. Every bite was amazing. Seriously, the food was so hot I burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth, but I didn’t even care.
They’re open from 11 am to 6 pm, serving breakfast all day, which was perfect because I didn’t make it out of bed until 2 pm due to being hungover. If you're looking for a cool spot with a grass wall for pictures, you can still go to those places for drinks, but trust me, the food here is way better. If you're planning to hit that spot on Lewis, grab a bite here first!
Definitely recommend this place—can’t wait for the...
Read moreOverall the food was good. The staff were very attentive. They mad an error on 1 of our orders but apologized and corrected it w/o delay or a debate. The location was decent. I had the French toast waffle with scrambled eggs and bacon. As you can see in the picture, the French toast waffle was literally french toast and a waffle. That was a let down as I was expecting a French toast designed as a waffle or vice versa. The amount of syrup they gave me was just enough. I gather that was the case due to how thin the French toast bread was. The eggs were seasoned so good and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My date's food was enticing. I was a little mad(joking)she didn't offer me any of the home fries prior to putting her condiments on it. They looked really goos. I will go back again to tried corned beef hash with the eggs and ....home fries. Also the french fries looks very good. That's going to be a lunch/dinner situation with a...
Read moreIf you looking for a vibe and good food this the place to come. We went on a Sunday the DJ and service was amazing. The food was excellent. We left Beso Brooklyn 😫 to come here and were not disappointed. My girlfriend and her friend were waiting outside for the rest of the party and was greeted by a hostess who asked if they were ok, needed anything or wanted to come inside….so sweet. The drinks were bomb and the food was well seasoned and tasty even the fries which they seasoned with Cajun seasoning. I ordered the shrimp, fish and grits it was creamy like grits should be but not runny. The fish was crispy and fried to perfection. The shrimp did what it needed in every bite. We also had the shrimp tacos (best I have had in a long time), and chicken nachos. I don’t eat meat but the party enjoyed it.
I would highly recommend this establishment❤️ and it’s...
