The Munchies — Restaurant in New York

Positives: The restaurant is VERY clean, so that's comforting to see as soon as you walk in. You can see the staff making your food and they were handling everything with care and precision. The food portions are amazing for the price! I ordered a chicken avocado wrap and it was huge and filling, and the chicken tenders were large and juicy. Texture wise, everything was great. They have a cool tablet you can order on as well if you need to take your time with the menu, most of the items have pictures as well so you can get a visual.

Negatives: As big as the portions were, the flavor of the food wasn't really there at all. It all tasted very bland, which was very disappointing because many reviews claimed the food was tasty. If given the choice, I would opt for smaller portions but more flavor. My food took a very long time to come out for some reason when the spot wasn't really busy. I had finished placing my order on the tablet and 3 people who came in after me and placed their orders at the counter got their food before I did. The tablet does not have the entire menu on it and some of the options are not clear as to which item they are referring to, so it may be confusing to make choices. I drove home and unpacked the food to find they had forgotten to give me an order of french fries. I had ordered 2 but only received 1.

Overall: I felt like I waited a long time to receive a large amount of bland food and lost money on a missing order of fries, which was, again, very disappointing. They seem to be a work in progress and have a lot of potential, but I am not in any rush to go back and honestly doubt I will after my personal experience. The claim of "best halal food" is a veryyy huge stretch when there are much more flavorful options elsewhere. Hope they work out the spices and flavor of their food and organize themselves more as to not mix up...

Dayummmm ngl this is my 2nd time this wk. ordered the boneless wing w/Honey Garlic sauce (it’s soooo good). Specifically reordered boneless 10pc asked for sauce on side. Chic is good alone and easier to put in air fryer. Comes with 2 sauces on side just enough for the 5/5 portion. Place my order asked for an addtnl sauce so that would be 3. And added another wing order. Walked in was abt 5ppl against the wall and noticed the usual friendly young guy wasn’t there. I ask for a slice of chocolate cake pay for that in cash and then give cash tip. It’s my normal process. Friendly guy usually asks if I want more sauce etc. Staff in order and station clean. I’m at th counter see it’s another young man with glasses. Kept it’s quick. We put the cash tip. Wallked my 20min home. To only have ONE sauce. One for 10 wings and fries. My dtr got her one sauce for her 6pc. Guess it was bc I gave cash and not tipped online? Food good and the other dude cool so guess gotta risk it if...

I enjoy eating good food all over and The Munchies has been added to 1 of my favs list. I love their good food, chill vibe atmosphere with friendly personal service. Muzzi & his team do an outstanding job every time. I enjoy The Munchies to the point the I ✈️in to order my Philly Cheese & Chopped Cheese for ny family & I to eat. Before I found The Munchies I would travel to Harlem to get my sandwiches & bring them back to the BK or just not eat until I went back into the city, now I can enjoy a early day or late night sandwich in a clean atmosphere. I definitely recommend the Philly Cheese, Chopped Cheese, the catfish, the Chicken & Rice with white sauce & banana peppers & the burgers 😍.
