Milk & Pull is the coffee shop I’ve been going to since I moved to NY. From visiting their Ridgewood location in 2015, to their Bushwick location in 2018, now I live by their Bed Stuy location. I’ve been a loyal customer, often buying gift cards as gifts for friends family in further support of the brand. They have great coffee, pastries, bagels, and the newly renovated Bed Stuy location is absolutely divine with a backyard that is perfect for summertime iced coffee. Lately though, Milk & Pull has become the kind of coffee shop where I feel like I’m bothering the employees that work there every time I come in, order something, and/or eat in. I know the service industry is a difficult one, and I can’t even begin to imagine everything that workers have gone through in the last 3 years, but I’m also a customer that deserves care and respect. In the last few times I’ve gone there, 1. I’ve ordered something and while paying and experiencing some difficulty with my card (which made me very anxious and apologetic though the entire ordeal took less than 30 seconds), been gestured rudely by staff to move as they begin taking the next customer’s order before completing mine. 2. I’ve gone with a friend who didn’t hear her order and had a server come to the table to slam the plate down. 3. Most recently, my boyfriend brought a bag of beans and was treated with such hostility, he was scared to ask for his free drink, ultimately deciding against it. These are not great experiences that I’m sharing to give an accurate description and...
Read moreI want to give five stars. I love this neighborhood coffee shop, and even more since they've moved to their new location. They did a wonderful job with the design. It's fresh and clean with plenty of places to sit, and even a little outdoor space. The coffee, food, and pastries are always good. All their food is so tasty. And their drinks are made perfectly. Milk & Pull is definitely worth the stop if you are in the neighborhood or are visiting. That said, there have been a handful of occasions recently that have been slightly off putting. The staff is not always friendly. And often times you wait longer so they can finish their conversations with each other. I waited over 20 minutes for a bagel sandwich (it was not busy at all) as I watched the employees chatting and goofing around. Another thing to note is that their kitchen doesn't open until 8 am, even though they open 7am. I arrived at 7:50 one morning and watched the barista turn down two food orders before me. When I got to the register, I asked if I could wait until 8 but put in a food order with my coffee order so I wouldn't have to wait in line again (it can get very busy in the am), But she said I could not order anything until after 8. A bit frustrating, so I just got my coffee and left. Again, I do love this place and I absolutely think it's worth a visit, but I wish it had more friendly staff and that they would open their kitchen for us...
Read moreMilk and Pull is more than just a coffee shop to me. It’s one of those rare places where community happens naturally. Over time, I’ve built deeper connections here just by running into familiar faces, exchanging quick hellos, and sharing those silent nods of acknowledgment when we’re all in our own zones. That kind of organic connection wouldn’t be possible without the warm and easygoing vibe that Milk and Pull has cultivated.
The team here is more than just baristas. They are some of the kindest, most genuine people. No matter how quick or busy the moment, they always make space for real interactions. A kind word, a moment of recognition, and the little things add up to something special. They are talented, warmhearted, and always look out, and I appreciate them for that.
The food is solid, with the Badu sandwich being my go-to. The coffee is always on point. But beyond all that, this place has become part of my weekly rhythm. It’s where I can slow down, think, and just be.
Wishing continued success to this amazing spot and everyone who keeps it...
