10/10. If could rate it higher I would
Big shout out to Matt for the awesome service!
I’ve been coming to Burger Fi for years and I can personally vouch for these ratings I’m giving. Being born and raised in Brooklyn, you learn the “Spots” and this is on of them.
BurgerFi has a rustic warm feeling the moment you come in. Since it sits on the corner, the owner took the genius idea to have full ceiling to floor windows/doors installed so there’s LOADS of natural light. The windows themselves can be removed for more room during the warmer seasons. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the staff which in NYC is extremely different. There’s floor mats which lead you directly to the counter so there’s no confusion as to where to go like in other burger joints. If you’re not dining in there’s a separate exit/ entrance that you’re encouraged to take after you’ve received your food so there’s no clutter if you’re leaving. You enter from one entrance, order and leave from the next. The menu is above the registers in big lettering so you know exactly what you’re ordering.
So you place your order and the FRIST THING I NOTICE is how friendly the staff is. Matt was on shift that day and we were talking as though we knew each other for years. Unlike other places, the staff BRINGS THE FOOD TO YOU! Personally, that’s crucial for any food spot because it’s what separates regular places to this one. I ordered a double BurgerFi Cheese burger and DAMN it was good.
The burger was CAREFULLY placed so nothing spills out when you take a bit. The cheese was placed perfectly on both patties making a real cheese burger. ALL of the ingredients were fresh and didn’t have that refrigerated taste to it. You get your order on a metal tray with a paper cover on it which promotes it’s app with a QR code so you don’t have to search for it. The drinks are self served and CLEAN unlike AMC theaters. There’s 2 soft drink machines with the condiment station in between both of them making it simple to get everything that you need.
There’s napkins at every table so you never need to go to the counter for napkins. Your first bite into the food is immaculate because you can taste how well cooked the burger is. The cooks in the back are clearly trained correctly! Walking in here and eating here reminds me of having a BBQ burger at the park as a kid. It invokes that deep happy memory and it’s why I drive all the over here to eat here from the other side of Brooklyn.
What I found pleasantly surprising was the sleeve the burger came in. It’s not wrapped like in most places, it’s a open ended sleeve so you can hold the burger without making a mess everywhere. So if sauce comes out the burger, the sleeve catches it. The fries has potato skin on them which gives it more flavor and they’re not TOO salted like McDonald’s or FiveGuys and the lunch special comes with an onion ring which isn’t over or undercooked. Food from here isn’t meant to scarf down without thinking. You take your time and savor the flavors and sauces. I recommend EVERYONE to come here and try they’re food even if you’re vegan. They have LOADS of vegan options here and will cook it to your liking.
I really wanted to emphasize this right here by itself. The place is CLEAN. I don’t mean tidy. I mean CLEAN. As of 2/15, the snow was melting but still everywhere and the floors indoors weren’t sticky. The owners and staff take GREAT care of this place. The bathrooms were cleaned and pleasant! Usually I’d hesitate but I don’t have to here because it’s actually CLEAN!
This place is MUCH better than Wendy’s, McDonald’s...
Read moreI’ve been coming here every once in a while since they first opened but after my last visit, I think I’ll now be going to the nearest shake shack. I ordered online and went to pick it up (I only live 2 blocks away), upon my arrival, I noticed there was only one customer…no wonder. Anyway, one of the servers walked pass me and went behind the counter. As she was walking pass me, I said “hi”, no response. She proceeded to label and bag some items. There were 2 other people behind the counter, a guy who was serving ice cream in cups (for delivery, I guess) and another girl who proceeded to pack a bunch of food for delivery. After about 5-10 mins, I was ready to walk out if I hadn’t already paid for my order online. I literally started to wonder, “am I a ghost?…do they NOT see me?” She picked up the phone after the 1st ring and turned her back on me again to continue packing up the orders. Eventually, one of the girls served the only customer that was there after packing about 10 bags of food to be picked up for delivery. She finally addressed me and handed me my food which was sitting there the whole time. I was waiting in a the empty restaurant for about 15 minutes, by the time I got home (5 mins away)…my food was completely cold. The fries were cold and disgusting so were the burgers, no grill or smokey flavor at all…the beef patties tasted like they were microwaved or boiled. The only thing that was edible were the onion rings, hence the 2 star rating. I will not be returning anymore. The old staff used to be awesome and friendly, now they just ignore people. Note to management: The customers that are in front of you should always come first, you should not ignore them while picking up the phone and bagging up food for delivery (when the delivery person is...
Read moreMy husband and I went to BurgerFi last night to give it a try. We are big burger and fry fans. I read a lot of mixed reviews before I went, but wanted to decide for myself. It was a little pricey which I don't mind if the food and service are good. The burger was a little messy but delicious. The onion rings were my favorite part of the meal. The best onion rings I have ever eaten. The fries however were not good and since my husband is a huge fry fan, I may or may not go back. Both of our orders of fries were EXTREMELY burnt and overdone. Out of 2 large orders if we ate 9 single fries it was a lot. Both orders went right in the garbage. That was a colossal waste of money.
As for the atmosphere, I liked it. It wasn't crowded when we went, so it felt spacious. It was clean and open. The fact that they serve beer is a plus. Big beer drinkers here =) I wish I could get over the fry situation though, they were so terrible that it may keep us from returning. For hubby, its the most important part...
