I have been to this place three times total. Loved it the first two times so much I suggested it for our next girls night dinner. We went and I was so disappointed. We were greeted by a nasty rude hostess who also happened to be our server. Her name was Paola. After not even looking at us points to a location for us to sit. There was six of us and in order for us to sit we had to push the tables together ourselves. She then rudely interrupted with not her words but with hand gestures to wait bc it’s dirty. We get pass that and continue to order. All this is happening and she barely looks up from her iPad. I couldn’t tell you the color of her eyes bc I never saw them. After some of us say thank you thank you not even a glance was given, let alone a “you’re welcome”. We are all servers we understand having bad days but there is a limit to everything. She comes and takes our orders again barely looking up from the iPad. When speaking to is her voice is condescending and like she doesn’t want to be our server. She takes for ever to come and check on us. Had to be called over twice to be reminded of our water and she still sent someone else to get while she proceeded to to nothing but on the iPad. When we asked for the check she was there in seconds and grabbing the receipt back even faster. The food here is great and the drinks strong and yummy but after that I refuse to go back to such horrible service from someone when there was no need to treat...

If I could I would give these guys a zero. I spent a $35 cab with my sister and friend to come here just be be denied being we had kn croc shoes. Now I can understand a dress code but we found this place online. It was never written on their website no croc shoes. I wear crocs be I work on my feet a lot and they are comfortable for my feet. They told us we could not come in because of this when really they should let people who make reservations online know that before hand before spending money on coming there. They really turned down money for people wearing crocs and they were really rude and disrespect with it. They should have made an accommodation for the simple fact they they have none of this written on there website where we made reservations. It was very disappointing and this establishment was horrible. They need to be clear about that be people make reservations and spend money coming there. Oh and to top it off when my friend went to speak to a manager about it in the restaurant she seen someone wearing slides with socks. How you don't want crocs but you have someone wearing basically a sandal with socks on? Very unfair! We were all highly upset and decided this was a place we want to spend our money anyway if that's how they treat their people. Horrible place! The bouncer and management were very unreasonable even though they are the ones that did not clarify anything on...

Went here for Fathers Day 1st time and last. 1- Food, portions are small and not worth the prices. Ordered yucca fries sent back twice because they were raw. My Husband ordered the surf and turf and got a bite size lobster tail for $54. We also ordered 2 exotic yucca mofongos at $16 each + $6 for shrimp. Was overcharged on both was supposed to pay $44 got charged $52. The empanadas are very small for the price. 2- Drinks, very watery they need a new bartender. Ordered a pitcher of sangria which had no fruit. We asked for the fruit which they gave us however all we got was orange peels chopped up. The Blue Hawaiian Jumbo size it was terrible no flavor n watery. The pina colada was horrible the pineapple juice tasted spoiled & had no coconut flavor. 3- Ambiance, The place is ok they have nice decor but the music is too loud as if it was a club. Couldn’t hear each other speak during dinner. The DJ was playing the same artist the entire evening. The hookah was good. Overall we had a great time. Being Latina I was very disappointed with the food quality and taste. Don’t buy mixed drinks. Go across the street to the New Apollo there drinks are 🔥Spent over $400 wish it was worth it will definitely not...

Super chill little place couple blocks from the Metropolitan Ave "L" train stop. Went on a Monday evening and security checked our ID at the door. Decor is wonderful Puerto Rican and Caribbean carnival style with masks and costume. There is a wall covered in bottles of drinks which was dope. Decent indoor eating area with chill dim lighting, almost felt like candlelight. A full bar serving everything it seemed like, and an outdoor area in the back which was completely packed on a Monday. They do serve hookah which may explain the crowd out back but at no time did it feel overcrowded or too loud. We chose to sit inside for a more intimate feel. The food came quickly and was fresh and hot. A bit under seasoned for my Latino palate but that was quickly remedied as they brought fresh pressed garlic which gave the food the punch it deserved. Beers were cold, cocktails were delicious. Overall a really nice place which I will definitely return too.

So this was my first time visiting Carneval. I found out about it on Tik Tok. As we entered the establishment we waited by the bar for more than 10 minutes to be acknowledged. There was staff at the end of the bar and none of them greeted us. Finally the hostess comes and her energy was dry and stale. She asked us for ID🤔...then she wanted to seat us by the door and there was over 10 tables empty. We chose where we wanted to sit. She proceeded to tell us there's a 2 hour limit...Keep in mind the waiter didn't come to our table until 25 min pass. However he was the best part of my experience at Carneval. Carlos was friendly, inviting and accommodating. The food was good..didn't love the fried crab cakes and guacamole was missing flavor. The DJ played one genre of music to a diverse group of patrons....it would've been nice to have variety. I wouldn't return back to this restaurant😊
