ORO New York Brooklyn Hair&Eyelash&Eyebrow — Local services in New York

After moving to the city a few years ago, I've been on the hunt for a salon and a stylist I trust with my hair. After getting my hair dyed and styled by Yuya at ORO's Brooklyn location 3 times now, I think I've found the one!

The original ORO location is in the East Village, just two stops away on the L, so this isn't that much further for me to go. This location in Brooklyn is spacious, clean, and comfortable! Scheduling is also very easy - you can call or DM them on Instagram. I find that the rates are pretty reasonable for NYC as well. Tips can be paid via Venmo to individual stylists. I've never found the language barrier to be a big issue, since communicating with pictures for styles and colors works well.

I've been very happy with cut and colors with Yuya. When I started going to him for my hair, I had a grown out balayage and wanted to go for a two-tone style, which I've never tried before. He's quite realistic about what we can achieve in a session - for example the first time, we couldn't lift my hair that light so we finished with a nice ashy blonde, but then subsequent colors have been a silver/purple melt, a dark gray, and a smoky steely blue, all of which I've loved. Yuya has also cut my hair a couple of times, and every time he's always careful to listen to what I want and look at examples of the styles I'd like.

ORO is great and always worth the 1hr trek for me! I'm so glad I've found a place and a stylist that I trust and enjoy. Bonus points for proximity to Edith's for bagel sandwiches just...

I don’t know where to begin. The customer service was so amazing and sweet. I walked in and they were so welcoming . Being in the city it’s hard to find a hair stylist that really pays attention to detail and your hair health. I’ve never felt my hair so taken care of before until now. Throughout the cut and hair bleaching process Yuya took his time and was detailed throughout the entire process. Through the appointment Yuya made sure i was comfortable, through the bleach process and the hair wash process. The hair wash was amazing, almost fell asleep while he was shampooing. He was super gentle and funny! I will definitely be coming back. I’ve already booked my next appointment in November to dye my hair. Thank you guys for being so sweet and amazing. I’ve found my go-to hair salon in nyc finally! Yuya is a brilliant hairstylist. I wanted a little makeover but wasn’t so sure what to do. I just gave him vague images of what I was going for and didn’t even show the photos or colors I was looking to get, but he grasped my ideas really well and even gave me a suggestion, which turned into a great happy surprise because I never knew the blonde would look so great on me! Honestly, this is my all-time favorite hairstyle and I get so many compliments (almost every day!), I couldn’t be happier! Also, everyone here is so nice and I’m very happy with their service. The place is so bright with lots of natural light and immaculate which I personally think is very important for a salon.
