I recently ordered from Charcoal Eats via DoorDash, and I have to say, it was a disappointing experience. As someone who has enjoyed authentic Indian food in New York for the past 20 years, I can confidently say that this restaurant falls short. First off, the flavors just aren’t there. I’ve had some of the best Indian dishes in this city, and Charcoal Eats feels like a completely different cuisine. The spices are muted, and the dishes lack the depth and vibrancy that you’d expect. It’s as if the recipes were adjusted for a completely different palate, which is baffling. What’s even stranger is the glowing 5-star reviews from people who, to my knowledge, don’t have Indian backgrounds. It makes me wonder if they’ve had better Indian food to compare it to. If you’re Indian and craving authentic flavors, I’d recommend steering clear of this place. In short, if you’re looking for a true Indian dining experience, Charcoal Eats is not the spot for you. Save your money and look elsewhere

Had a pretty bad experience here unfortunately. The food was pretty mediocre and super greasy and in addition to being 15 minutes late for pickup they charged me extra for garlic naan I didn’t receive. Dal Makhani was decent but they only gave me a half portion. Saag paneer was decent. Chicken tikka masala was a greasy mess, by far the worst chicken tikka masala I’ve ever seen. I think they just dumped oil into it instead of cream? The photos show what I’m talking about. Picking up food from this place is a hassle. You walk in and it’s unclear what’s going on. I waiting until I got the notification that my food was ready and then scanned my app on this screen and it failed. I rang the bell and they said it wasn’t ready yet. Sadly won’t be returning which is a bummer because I really wanted to like this place.

I recently ordered from Charcoal Eats in Queens, and it was a delightful experience! As someone who loves exploring new food spots, especially Indian cuisine, I was thrilled to try their takeout and delivery service. The food was absolutely amazing! I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka and the Butter Chicken Kati roll. The biryani was perfectly spiced and aromatic, with tender pieces of chicken that melted in my mouth. The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The food was hot and fresh. The packaging was neat and ensured that everything stayed intact. Charcoal Eats is a fantastic option for anyone craving delicious Indian food in Queens. Whether you’re looking for a quick takeout meal or a convenient delivery, they have you covered.
