After a long day out in Manhattan and a fantastic meze lunch at the ilili NoMad Lebanese restaurant we just wanted a small snack this evening without having to go to far from the hotel. As we had previously bought & eaten a couple of delicious sandwiches from the Everyday Gourmet Deli, just 3 blocks from our hotel, we decided we would walk down to get a couple of their Pastrami sandwiches tonight. In addition to selling food to go, the Deli also sells groceries. In the food sections there is manned counters for fresh cooked Korean food, a manned counter to order fresh made sandwiches & burgers, a fresh pizza counter, large self-service heated trays with hot cooked food and large self-serve refrigerator trays with fresh salad, all bought by weight. My wife & I both ordered the pastrami sandwiches, with pastrami & corned beef freshly sliced for our sandwiches, cooked on the hot plate and served on toasted rye bread with Swiss cheese, coleslaw, mustard & mayonnaise. There's seating downstairs next to the food counter for customers to eat their purchases in the store, with signs saying there's also seating upstairs. We ordered our sandwiches to go, to eat back at the hotel. After picking up our sandwiches from the cook at the counter, we took them to the cashier at the store entrance to pay for them. The pastrami & corned beef sandwiches from the Everyday Gourmet Deli are absolutely the best sandwiches we...
Read moreThis is an all-in-one deli mini food court type of vibe and I wish they had one of these in Brooklyn where I live. Their food is the best food I had from a deli. I love that they have various options, including a soup and a make your own salad bar next to the deli part. The store also has a pizzaria section and a buffet (yes - a buffet in a deli) where they sell hot food, fruit, and more salad. They also have Asian food. They have an upstairs where there is seating. As far as the deli, the food is always fresh and the portions on the sandwich are way more than they give you at deli's in Brooklyn. A little expensive because it's Manhattan obviously but it's worth it! Everytime I go in there on my lunch break they are always quick to take my order and quick to make the food. Im always in and out. I leave a tip in the tip jar whenever I can because they are all so friendly! I'm a regular customer so they know me pretty well. If you work in this area I definitely recommend going here on your lunch break. A lot of food to...
Read moreThis used to be the only affordable midtown deli around but it’s not anymore. They have clear displays of meal deals and that r not being honored and the excuse is always no that’s not the item featured for discount with the promos being are vague. Today I order a sandwich an small soup. The sign indicated u can have any sandwich with a small soup for 2 more dollars. When i got to the register it was very disturbing to see 18 bucks for a sandwich on a roll a small soup. I pointed out the sign and promo and I was told I. Return that’s not the right sandwich because it’s only 11 dollars whicj made no sense because the sign said any sandwich. This was very disappointing considering the food is mediocre and the location needs serious upgrades. Do better by ur customers especially the ones who have been very supportive of ur business. In fact I’ll look into speaking with an attorney for false...
