Chip City — Restaurant in New York

My experience at Chip City was absolutely terrible. I placed an order through Uber for pickup and patiently waited the 15 minutes I was told to. Then, I walked another 5 minutes to the store. When I arrived, I asked the worker if I had to wait in line for my order. She responded in a very rude manner, saying that they were in a rush and I should wait 20-30 minutes for just four cookies. I asked if I could cancel my order since I had taken 5 minutes from work. She told me to cancel it through Uber, and when I did, I was charged a cancellation fee. I spent 30 minutes on Uber trying to get my money back, but they wouldn’t refund me. Uber informed me that they still had to pay the restaurant, which is why they couldn’t refund me. I feel like I was set up instead of her simply canceling my order. It’s disappointing because I usually order my cookies from Levain Bakery, and this was closer to me. I was hoping this would become my usual spot. However, after today, I’m not sure I’ll be back.

Update: After calling Uber and speaking to someone instead, they were able to reach out to the store and confirm my story....

Happy to try this new cookie spot near my work! Cookie lover here so I have to get it after work.

Location: It is located along Madison Avenue. It’s few blocks from Mt Sinai Hospital. No seating inside so you just buy and go. Cute interior tho!

Service: she took her time cause i was taking pictures inside lol

Food: I bought the box special so I can taste all the flavors. They have different flavors every week so it was exciting! My favorites are SMORES: it is chocolate chip that has marshmallows in the middle, so good cause the cookies are moist. PINA COLADA: for me I don’t taste the pineapples that much but the filling inside were good. ORANGE N CREAM: this is one of my fave because it taste like afternoon tea cookies, again the orange filling inside is so good. TRIPLE CHOCOLATE: typical chocolate cookie, it was okay. CHOCO CHIP: also typical but I like it cause its moist.

Buying the cookies was seamless. I bought a six pack of one different cookie dough each. The chocolate chip and the confetti cookies were raw in the middle. All the rest were fine.

The counter lady helped me enroll in their points program with ease.

I came back for a pumpkin cookie a few days later as I love the one I got for the six pack. But it was only then that I was told the cookies rotate weekly. I wasn’t happy and walked out the store as I was desiring a pumpkin cookie all day. It was delightful. Not too overtly sweet nor pumpkin with the just right amount of spice.

Probably will go back but now will have to check...
