Cloud Touch on the Upper West Side is the kind of café that stops you in your tracks with its charm—clean lines, soft tones, and pastries that look like they were made to be photographed. It’s a vibe, no doubt. But once you move past the visuals, things start to level out a bit.
I ordered the egg sandwich, which looked golden and pillowy, but the flavor leaned a little too heavy on the egg—almost soufflé-adjacent, which might be your thing, but for me, it needed a bit more balance or texture to keep it interesting. I also tried the signature pistachio cloud latte, and while it was beautifully presented and had a lovely foam top, the flavor didn’t quite live up to the hype. I’ve had stronger pistachio notes—and better lattes—elsewhere.
The biggest drawback? The space itself. There’s hardly anywhere to sit, and what seating exists is very limited and tight. It’s not exactly built for lingering, which makes the experience feel more grab-and-go than cozy neighborhood hangout.
In short: Cloud Touch is visually delightful but just okay on the substance. Worth a stop if you’re nearby and want a quick bite or a pretty drink pic—but if you’re looking for standout flavors or a comfy seat, there are stronger options...
Read moreJust another “gimmick” snack spot in the student-ridden part of town. Clearly not for adults, and arguably not to satiate hunger at any age.
Before another comment regarding the food, a quick note on the staff. There’s a young lady in glasses who’s very friendly, and then there’s a chubby server who’s somehow always salty and sends scornful looks, which was particularly annoying after totaling close to $200 in spending on teas, drinks, and churros, over a span of a handful of visits.
As concerns the snack options, those are, again, just gimmicky carbohydrate- and cholesterol-loaded bites that might look colorful in an Instagram post, but dramatically lack flavor and palatable or nutritional qualities.
Even the 13-year old nephew, was unimpressed with their corn dogs, egg sandwiches, and mochi donuts.
Their drinks are fine, and perhaps the only decent section of the menu.
However, considering that there’s a refreshments and tea bar in the restaurant right beside it, that serves quality drinks, there’s arguably a better solution for one’s thirst and craving in the neighborhood than...
Read moreThey said they open at 7:30 AM, and it was also possible to order through Google Maps and Grubhub, so I placed an order at 7:53 AM and came to pick it up at 8:10 AM, only to find the door closed. There was a staff member inside, so I called out to him, but he wouldn't open the door and just left me standing outside in the rain without opening it. So, I said since I made an online order, let's open the door and talk, but he wouldn't open it until he saw the email confirmation of my order after my several attempts to show him. Then he finally told me to wait. After leaving me outside for about 5 minutes, they finally opened the door and showed me my order to confirm if it was correct. Only then did he start preparing it. Not adhering to the opening hours is a problem, but making someone who has already ordered wait outside in the rain is also an issue. Opening hours are a promise to...
