Club Cumming — Restaurant in New York

honestly tn was a let down for me being a first timer here.

One. I was there to support some friends who were performing, it was advertised doors open at 10. I show up at 11 and was told to come back after 11:30 because of a “private event.” Weird? I thought so. But it gets weirder.

Second. I walked passed the bouncer and turned back and see my friend being told to take off his durag because of club “policy.” We def thought this was extra weird but brushed it off. Later the bouncer comes back and doubles down on the policy. Mind you there were other people with hats and wraps but this felt extra weird, and slightly like a micro aggression, my friend is black for context. After a quick and communicative back and forth they let us continue to do our thang but the whole night felt tainted from this weird ass encounter.

Third. The bartender wasn’t rude but wasn’t friendly either. Def didn’t seem like he wanted to be there.

Overall, there are tons of other places to have a more memorable and entertaining evening in the city, ESPECIALLY if you’re a person of color!! STAY SAFE AND...

I’m pretty sure I lucked out, as friends who have visited love this place. After the bar tender was rude to the person next to me (which I can’t be sure wasn’t justified) they bar tender walked away and played with their phone for a few minutes and they reluctantly took my order, made my drink and then took the order of another person who came up next to me. Had a Magic time Spinning Around in Club Cumming at the Kylie tea dance ahead of her MSG concert, hosted by the Wow Bright light bright light. Playing only songs by Kylie and Dannii. He took not just The One song request but requests on post it notes all afternoon. Good promotions on at the bar such as Golden Mimogusers, with not Slow but quick service.
