I was so excited to try this place out because of the high ratings and I love trying new bubble tea spots but I was extremely disappointed in the results.
To begin, it was uncomfortably warm in the shop. It is a spacious shop but if you look closely, the tables and chairs are in need of repair and a light cleaning.
Second, it took almost 10 minutes to prepare the order with only one person waiting for their drink ahead of me. While the drinks were being made, the blender was incredibly loud. I am not someone who is sensitive to sound but it was very loud in the shop.
Next, I was informed that there was no more sago for the drink I ordered (which should have been made known BEFORE I ordered the drink) but I was offered a different topping to replace the sago, so I chose lychee jelly.
When I finally got my drink (I ordered the mango pomelo sago), there was no pomelo AT ALL, as you can see from the picture, and I honestly don’t think there were any crystal bubbles either. If you will not provide the toppings in the drink I ordered, let me know or at least don’t charge me for it.
I paid almost $9 for this drink and it was basically a mango smoothie with lychee jelly. The lychee jelly was okay but on the sweet side. In fact I ordered less sugar but it still seemed quite sweet to me. If you are looking for something tart, this...
Read moredid not know this gem of a place existed. For one, it’s in bayside and not in flushing and I can’t follow these boba/tea shops, there’s just so many… . The store itself isn’t fancy schmancy and when we were there on a Saturday afternoon, there was only one person working at the shop. . They have a mixture of milk teas and fruit teas, my friends recommend the fruit teas, I personally prefer fruit teas more. There just something about fresh fruit juice… . Shown are lychee green grapes tea, mango pomelo sago and guava green grapes tea. And let me tell you guys, I was blown away by how freaking good these drinks were. The drinks were refreshing and the ones with the grapes were just so crisp to the taste. They were also seedless so no need to worry about the seeds…they are also very generous with the fruit. It was a lot of fruit, might as well be a meal.. . If you’re a fan of guava, try the guava . And how cute is their packaging? They put a piece of paper on the top before the lid, that way your drink won’t spill. Genius!!! . I know this is a bit out of the way but I’d say give this place a try if you’re in the neighborhood/area. Their prices are fair for drinks. And their portions are big (depending on the drink). The drinks we got were one size only. . Tip: their store hours on google maps may not be accurate - we learned it...
Read moreI've visited Curbside in Bayside several times, and each visit solidifies it as a top-tier bubble tea destination. Their menu, which intriguingly includes savory food items and a unique milk tea hotpot (still on my to-try list), primarily wins my heart with their bubble tea offerings.
Their teas are nothing short of exceptional. As a fan of unique toppings, I adore their inclusion of mochi – a delightful touch that elevates the experience. My latest indulgence was the Osmanthus Makgeolli, a fusion that beautifully marries the traditional rice wine flavors with the refreshing essence of bubble tea. It's a must-try for anyone seeking a new tea experience.
But the true star was the Persimmon Mochi Blessings. The persimmon's freshness was unmistakable, and its flavor permeated every sip, offering a novel experience I haven't found elsewhere. Previously, I've enjoyed the Taro Puree Mochi Boba Milk Tea and the Organic Chestnut Puree Bubble Latte. Both were remarkable, featuring fresh taro and chestnut that truly set them apart.
Curbside in Bayside is a gem for bubble tea enthusiasts. Their commitment to quality, innovation, and delightful flavors makes every visit a memorable one....
