Update: this place is now HALAL!
Which is amazing, since we already liked the vegetarian food (because we can't have no halal meat/chicken), and now that we can eat the meat and chicken, it's another level of amazing!
... Old review: We were skeptical at first before deciding to order from this place because it didn't have the best reputation, but we heard about them having a new management recently and we decided to give it a go and we're so glad we did! We ordered safe options that we always order elsewhere to play it safe, the samosa and the paneer makhani. we also went and had the cauliflower dumplings just out of curiosity.
To put it simply, the food was amazing. The samosa was fresh, crunchy and flaky from the outside and soft and hearty from the inside. The paneer makhani was one of the best we ever had, rich, hearty, savory with a hint of sweetness! The cauliflower dumplings were tangy, sour and rich in flavor.
The food overall was not overwhelmingly spicy which was good. We're so happy we finally have good authentic Indian cuisine nearby. They gave us complementary treats that we did not order which was a nice gesture. would...
Read moreMy experience at Indian Curry Heights in Brooklyn, New York, was nothing short of delightful. Serving a delectable array of Indian and Pakistani cuisine, this restaurant exceeded my expectations in both taste and value.
As a tourist staying nearby, Indian Curry Heights quickly became our go-to spot for dinner during our stay. Not only was the food delicious, but the prices were also very reasonable, making it an excellent choice for visitors looking for authentic cuisine without breaking the bank.
The convenience of its location near our guest house made it even more appealing, and we found ourselves returning every evening to indulge in their flavorful dishes. From aromatic curries to mouthwatering biryanis, every bite was a delight.
Needless to say, we left with fond memories and a promise to return on our next trip to New York. If you're in the area and craving Indian or Pakistani cuisine, I highly recommend paying a visit to Indian Curry Heights. You won't be...
Read moreAt best, I'd say this is a 'take out' place. The food was so disappointing. Forget Indian food standards, the food was almost stale. Personally, I always tip 15% but they got none. Let's start: The waiter was 'uninvested', to put it mildly. He looked more like thug because of which I didn't raise these issues at the dinner table. The Gobi Manchurian was disgusting. Literally, disgusting. Soggy pieces of Cauliflower, tasting of stale oil and covered with a ketchup paste is NOT Gobi Manchurian. The biryani was pathetic. It tasted of stale oil and over stuffed coriander paste (the kind you get at an Indian store). The carrots were frozen, microwaved and frozen again - I could tell because the taste is apparent. The bill was 46$. I returned the Gobi Manchurian and Biryani and it was obvious we hadn't eaten more than a bite and yet were fully charged for it.
The only reason I've given a 2 star is because the Daal was edible and was the only thing that...
