I got my hair done early February 1 and my hair started to fall out immediately after my appointment. When chatting over the phone with the rep, I negoiated a price because I purchased human hair that I was bringing in myself. I sent photos of what I wanted (Gypsy Knotless) and they said that it would be $300 once I got into the space. Once I got in the chair my hairstylist was 30 minutes late to the appointment and she told me that what I confirmed over the phone was incorrect and my new price would be $365. I was already in the chair and waiting, so I just accepted the new price. My stylist was very nice, but I did have questions about how big the pieces should be and she didnt want to go bigger. The stylist never mentioned not washing my hair and the gel was caked on and my head was starting to itch badly so I washed it. Majority of my hair fell out.
When I asked the stylist if she would be willing to do a partial refund or fix the issue. She told me it was because of my hair texture that it fell out. I have 3b/3c hair. I have never had an issue with hair falling out like this. I was sad that they could not resolve the issue.
Aside from it falling out the roots also look so sad. They are billowing out and not laying to my head, so overall this was a poor job of braiding. I unfortunately will never go back and I hope the 3B/3C community sees this so that they know, that their texture cannot be executed in to braids by their stylists.
Im going to try and salvage as much hair as possible so its not a complete waste of money. But it's unfortunate that they were not willing to...
Read moreHi! I've been wanting to get my hair braided and sport a new hairstyle for the summer, for a few weeks now. So I started googling for a good salon and my search led me to Hairstyles by K. I must say, I'm so glad I found this spot. The website was easy to use and in a few minutes, my appointment was set. I went for a bold look and decided to go with butterfly faux locs. Appointment day arrived, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but nonetheless, I was excited. K was friendly and puts you at ease from the moment you walk in the door. She asked me why I had chosen the hairstyle and if I was ready for it, as it was a significant change. I had been researching this style for weeks and just felt good about it.. so YES! I was ready! Honestly, most places you go to don't even ask where you got your inspiration from and just start doing your hair. I appreciated that small detail. She started off by washing my hair and then off to the stylist chair. It took time. Approximately, 4 hrs. She worked and I watched. It's amazing to see the art happen. I can truthfully say that it was worth the time and money. I love my hairstyle! All I've gotten are compliments and all I can be is grateful that I found a great stylist. Even my bestie wants to go and get her hair braided now too! I definitely recommend this salon. The simple fact is, K has gotten a new loyal client and I look forward to the next...
Read moreWas in town for an event this weekend and decided to book an appt for some biho knotless. This was my first time coming here and my first time getting boho. I booked with Leo and she was amazing. I got there a little early, so the shop wasn't yet opened and I got worried. So much research to find the right braiding spot, spirits don't let me be wrong. Leo washed, prepped, blow dried, and braiding my hair. We took a short meal break and I was happy that she was caring for herself. She is the gentlest braider I've ever experienced. Every braid felt good going in. No pulling, yanking, nothing. At one moment, I noticed her gently teasing a knot out of my hair. I felt so cared for. Other braiders have yanked my hair apart as a solution to knots. Like, ma'am, relax. My hair doesn't even tangle like that. Tranquila. But Leo was just.... I haven't been able to stop praising her. What a treat. Total was ~ $300 for wash, dry, boho knotless. Website was easy to navigate. Booking easy and intuitive. And calling/texting were easy and prompt replies. Will come back next time...
