I only went there once and while the food and drinks were great the service was horrible. I had a bad experience with the bartender (and as a black woman, if felt very targeted because he only got nasty with me when my friends left to go grab a table outside) and I told the waiter that I didn’t want to talk to him and asked for the bill. Someone I was with went inside to talk to the bartender, which i didn’t want but that is not the establishments fault. What I don’t like is that the bartender proceeded to come out and, the first time, he didn’t apologize for his behavior. He quite literally said “I’m sorry if you felt that way..” and implied that I was mad because he didn’t make my drink immediately, which I was mad because he was very rude to me. He also went back to the person who talked to him (the only white person in our group) and proceeded to say he didn’t think we carried ourselves like our age and he didn’t like the way we approached him, which we never actually spoke to him since he only spoke to that person and took our orders when we got there. I will say that finally the second time he came out he apologized but it felt ingenuine and I know the person in my group prompted him to apologize. Mind you this is all in public, so it felt very humiliating and honestly weird. I have prior bartending experience and this overall was just horrible customer service, they did nothing to make me feel comfortable after or to address where they went wrong. If I didn’t feel comfortable and when I asked the waiter on staff to solely work with me, it shouldn’t have escalated to a full on “conversation“ outside the establishment that wasn’t even necessary. I didn’t get the luxury to approach him when I felt ready or comfortable. I will not be returning.

UPDATE: I was just informed from a friend who frequents that I (and my friends) was banned from this bar because of THIS REVIEW. Which is ironic because I wasn’t planning to go back BUT I even went to talk to said bartender after to clear the situation. This just shows what they are...

Horrible experience! BEWARE! Terrible service and awful food. The “sesame chicken bites” is LITERALLY basic chicken tenders with sirracha on the side. “Pigs in a blanket” is a big sausage with oily bread around it. The “toffee pudding” was a toffee cake. When I asked the waitress what this stuff was she was super rude and told my friend she was leaving in a week so she basically didn’t care. Then we paid and I even left a 20 percent tip. After we paid my friend wanted a drink. She paid for it, finished her drink and then we left. I walked away but she got chased down by the bartender claiming we didn’t pay the bill!! IT WAS CRAZY!!!! Then he realized we did and walked away but by that time my friend lost her Uber. This place is actually insane. Never again. Seriously... I can’t stress...

We were wondering the streets randomly for somewhere to have lunch and decided to try Dog & Bone since it also had outside seating, which we took.

We had the poutine and the Irish breakfast for our mains. The former was a huge amount of food and the latter was in a soup bowl size. The soup bowl made it slightly hard to eat but it was tasty.

Given it was the 4th of July there was only a skeleton crew running things. The bar tender/waitress seemed to be doing practically everything. Even with about 6 or 7 groups in the place it wasn't slow service, she did a great job.

The music was loud inside, so I'm not sure I'd eat inside when the weather gets colder. Being outside allowed us to hear it as purely background music.

Very pleasant British-themed restaurant with some authentic touches - the baked beans were great and the curry & chips were almost too good to be a genuine replica. The indoor dining is very well spaced out and (as of Nov 2020) has large clear partitions between tables which adds a level of comfort to the experience. There is also plenty of outdoor seating on a newly pedestrian street. Beer options tend towards the standard American choices (which are good) although there are a couple of English beers in cans.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. This place shouldn’t be called this name. They have dog bones drawn everywhere and even give out dog treats at the door, but do not be confused - it is not dog friendly at all! Staff was rude about asking about my service animal, was super unfriendly the whole time, got annoyed when asked for a dog bowl as I sat outside, and the food was horrible. Giving two stars out of courtesy for allowing me and my dog to sit outside.
