Let me start off by saying that I was excited about coming to New York and trying the Vegan Restaurants. I'm a foodie who was in the restaurant business from the age of 14-40 yrs old. I started bussing tables when I was 14 at LeRuth's in New Orleans, La. I graduated from UNLV in Hotel Restaurant Management and then spent the next 20 years of my life being a general manager or regional manager at corprate full service restaurants. I'm not in the restaurant business any longer. Jan 2024 I was diagnosed w/ congestive heart failure. I had 5 stents put in March 2024. Since I was diagnosed w/ heart failure and studying about what caused my issues I have chosen to go Vegan since Jan 2024. I live about 30 minutes outside New Orleans along the Miss Gulf Coast. It is a struggle to follow a Vegan existence in the south. Everything is butter cheese bacon fat and couldn't be farther from trying to eat Vegan. I have eaten mostly salads daily for 11 months and have lost 63lbs and all my heart numbers are incredible now. Eating mostly salads and beans has gotten a little old but I haven't strayed. Since coming to New York we have eaten at Beyond Sushi, Sentire, and now Coletta. Wow would be the first word that comes to my mind. The flavor and creativity at all 3 restaurants have been beyond any expectation I had before walking in the doors. The service at all 3 have been exceptional friendly and attentive. Your servers and the manager (Anna) that has seem to be at every location we have been to take pride in there job and do it w/ a guest focus mentality. Thank you for opening my eyes into what Vegan can be. Coletta could open in New Orleans tomorrow and have a line around the block to get in for the first year you were open. There is nothing like this in New Orleans. There are plenty of us cajuns that find ourselves at the ripe old age of 55 having major health and heart problems. In the past 12 months I have had 2 friends and 1 relative all my age have quadruple bypass surgery. They have tried to go green but there is so few restaurants and grocery stores that you can go to it has been a challenge for them and they have all gone back to eating the same things that caused them to have heart problems in the first place. Anyway thank you from the bottom of my heart for a culinary tour in eating plant based versions of all the things I have missed eating the past 12 months. You need an investor and wanted to open a restaurant in the food capital of the United States New Orleans I would be your huckleberry. New Orleans is known for its cutting edge culinary establishments but not any of them try to do it plant based. Willow is next and looking forward to it. Thank you,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at one of NYC's premier vegan restaurants, and it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere exuded sophistication and warmth, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. The evening began with a warm welcome from the attentive and knowledgeable staff who guided us to our beautifully set table. The ambiance was perfect, combining modern elegance with a cozy, inviting feel. Soft lighting, tasteful decor, and a soothing playlist created an environment that was both luxurious and comfortable. To start, we indulged in their truffle mushroom pizza, which was a masterpiece. The crust was perfectly crisp, that spoke to the skill of the kitchen. Topped with fresh, vibrant mushrooms, truffles, and caramelized onions, every bite was a revelation. The flavors were harmoniously balanced, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and the creativity of the chef. Next came the eggplant lasagna, a dish that truly stole the show. Layers of tender, melt-in-your-mouth eggplant were interspersed with a rich tomato sauce, aromatic herbs that had us questioning how it wasn't dairy. The presentation was as exquisite as the taste, with each layer meticulously crafted and bursting with flavor. It was a comforting yet refined dish that elevated traditional lasagna to a whole new level. As we savored our main courses, the service continued to impress. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Their knowledge of the menu and passion for the cuisine were evident, making the experience even more special. To conclude this exceptional meal, we treated ourselves to the vegan lava cake, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The cake was decadently rich, with a perfectly gooey center that oozed out with the first bite. Accompanied by a dollop of dairy-free ice cream it was a symphony of textures and flavors. The deep, intense chocolate flavor was the perfect finale to our dining experience, leaving us thoroughly satisfied yet longing for just one more bite. In every aspect, from the impeccable service to the extraordinary food, this high-end vegan restaurant in NYC delivered an unforgettable dining experience. The dedication to quality, creativity, and hospitality was evident in every detail. Whether you're a vegan or simply a food lover, this restaurant is a must-visit. It's a place where culinary artistry meets exceptional service, creating a dining experience that will linger in your memory long after the last bite. Highly...
Read moreSaturday evening 8:45 PM - Early celebration of wife’s B’day on the suggestion of our vegan daughter. We were seated by host/greeter Jasmyn ☺️atmosphere was dark with ambient light she placed on the table to see the menu better. She served us Saratoga water and there was ear candy in the background, with enough volume to enjoy but not overpower conversation. Music included (Jungle, Parcel, Bee Gees etc); Service was some of the best we’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. Every server was attentive, warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the vegan menu. We started with: Olive and Rosemary Bread 18, served with a dip trio: Olive oil and aged balsamic, housemade fig jam, sunchoke and rosemary feta. DELICIOUS the whole way around. Fig jam I think tasted like honey (very good). I had a mocktail called Sweater Weather 16 w/Pomegranate, apple, cinnamon, chocolate. This was so refreshing and good, I had a second with dinner! Our server suggested it after I asked for a non alcoholic beer, which they didn’t have. The “SW” was a very fine substitute. Dinner: b’day girl had: Steak Filet 35 - Chunk Steak™, whipped potatoes, red wine au jus, grilled broccolini & chives. I had: Chicken Spiedini (GF) 29 - Mashed potatoes, caramelized cipollini onions, balsamic, roasted cherry tomatoes, thyme. The presentation alone for this was spectacular. Hope I can share a pic of it but it wouldn’t do it justice. Both entrees were flavorful, delicious and just enough. You’d forget this was vegan fare! We finished with a latte for me and a Dark Chocolate and Lavender Lava Cake 14 - Chocolate ganache, hot chocolate sauce, crispy caramel tuile & sea salt for the B’day girl🥰🎁 this looked like some beautiful creation from a cooking show that for once, YOU actually had a chance to taste. It didn’t disappoint either. Please forgive my limited vocabulary but this was simply delicious. Overall, I think we had about 5 people who attended us that were equally phenomenal! VEGAN fare for us meat eaters was so good, we’ll have to come back. Thank U 4 great, warm & friendly service, delicious food, in a great atmosphere on a Saturday night. Oh, btw, to the reader, they were sufficiently packed but with room to spare for us and few more guests! Thanks again 👍🏾❤️ We highly recommend this beautiful place for your gathering & eating enjoyment. Jeff & Rose Burton -...
