My review is of this location and not of the brand.
I don’t like writing bad reviews. You can check my profile I rarely write them. I work in customer service and have for 10 years but the service I received here was hostile. I came in on Sunday after walking for hours in 93 degree heat to get ice cream at a place that’s been on my bucket list of restaurants for two years and I finally had the opportunity to go to that day.
I ordered the flight. I was asked by Jenny if I wanted a flight board to go with that and I said yes because I assumed it was to transport my flight of scoops to the bar to eat them and then give back. When I realized I had spent $28 on ice cream I thought “well it’s alcoholic and it’s NYC” but then I checked the receipt. I explained to the 2nd associate ( the girl who checked me out ;Jenny was on the phone in the back of the store) that I didn’t understand I was buying the board and asked if I could be refunded (this conversation was had while I was still waiting for my order) and I heard from the back of the store the associate who checked me out “no refunds!”. I asked the second associate if there was a manager here today and she said no. I decided to just take my order and wait until the associate (Jenny) who checked me out was free as she seemed like she was the more senior worker of the two. When I did I kindly, patiently, and while talking in a calm manner explained again that I didn’t understand what I was purchasing as I wasn’t told I was paying to buy the board and that I had no need for the board. Jenny then said in a harsh and hostile tone “sorry for the misunderstanding. If you have no need for the board you can throw it away!” First of all you’re not sorry because if you were then you would have refunded me or passed me along to someone who could. Second, telling a customer to throw away an item you sold them instead of refunding them is so rude. I asked if there would be a manager in that I could give my information to and Jenny said she was the manager….I decided not to push the issue further as I didn’t want to argue. I instead left in tears.
I called another location who was very kind and advised me to email customer service to get refunded. So far I have not been emailed back but I was refunded $10 of the $15 that I was charged for the...
Read moreI never write reviews but this one is extremely warranted. I wanted to do something nice for my boyfriend for Valentine’s day, so I decided to get 2 tickets to a Valentine’s day themed sundae decorating class for the next weekend Unfortunately my boyfriend and I got covid so we weren’t able to go to keep ourselves and the people around us safe. I called them days before the class to let them know, because I spent over $100 on this class and they said to email customer service, so I did. The girls who emailed me back told me I cannot get my money back but they would have me reschedule my class. I told them I did not want to reschedule the class because it was only for that specific Valentine’s day class and they continued to tell me they will not give me my money back and even went as far to tell me even though I had covid I could still come in. That comment completely baffled me. They then sent me their “company policies” to show me I cant get a refund, BUT there was absolutely nothing in there about not being able to make classes. So essentially, this business wanted to steal my money and fought me tooth and nail to keep it. Of course they are able to give refunds though, they just didn’t want to! After many emails back and forth (because I would not stop lol) they finally issued a refund. Obviously they were able to… they just wanted my money. Funny enough to top it off, I emailed directly back asking when I would see my money in my account and they did not give me a response. I emailed 3 more times over the next few days and they did not respond… but when they wanted to keep my money they responded in no time. Funny. They still haven’t responded but I called my bank to make sure they would be doing the right thing. So just an fyi to anyone going to this place, be careful with your money and keep fighting until you get...
Read moreIf i could zero stars, I would consider. I booked a private Tipsy Scoop class through the Bach app for a work bonding activity, which clearly stated it would happen at the NYC location. While they were proactive about reaching out to confirm any allergies, Tipsy Scoop waited until the morning of the class to casually let me know that they can't host private classes in their NYC location and my party of 16+ had to truck it to Brooklyn, which we were unable to do. I asked if the class could take place at our office, or anything else could be done, and they simply just cancelled the class. They then reached out to offer a couple of free pints because of the mistake. I coordinated a delivery with the contact at Tipsy Scoop (which is about a 10 minute walk from our office). The delivery time came and went. When I followed up, they THEN told me that the delivery man ran into issues and couldn't deliver asking to reschedule. I expressed again how disappointed I was in this experience, and haven't heard from them since.
I realize while the initial issue could have been with their Bach partnership, how it was handled was unprofessional. Our team was left to scramble, and we pretty much were told there was nothing they can do about it. Not typically one to leave a review, I just hope no large parties have to deal with this issue...
