We worked with Midtown Florist for our wedding—which involved ten medium sized arrangements, ten larger arrangements, two very large centerpieces, multiple corsages and boutonnieres, my bridal bouquet, and a lovely barrette with flowers for my hair. The shop on Atlantic Avenue is pretty bare bones, so we weren’t sure initially what to expect. But Ugo, the shop manager (owner?), was incredibly clear, communicative, and professional every step of the way. He is also very kind, and was really excellent at helping us figure out our vision for our wedding, within our price range, and given the August heat (it was an outdoor event). When we came into the store, he mocked up arrangements and made sure we were happy with the colors, flower types, etc. He mapped out the entire floral set-up for us so we knew exactly what everything would look like—and then he executed that vision with precision. All I can say is that I believe this flower shop should really be getting a lot more business for big jobs such as this! Our wedding was not huge (slightly fewer than 100 people) but still a substantial event. The flowers were affordable, looked amazing, were delivered on time and with care, and really made our day! I waffled between 3 and 4 stars because I had one amazing and one bad experience with them. I've ordered on two separate occasions (two birthdays). The first was superb. Same day service, everyone I dealt with was professional and friendly, and the flowers were gorgeous. Plus they lasted over a week and were competitively priced for the bouquet I got.

Second time, I ordered a day in advance for pick-up. Went to the store the next day and they didn't have the flowers ready. And it wasn't like they were in the midst of making them. They just forgot to make them. The woman working there offered me a selection from the front of the case, and while they were all nice, they were nothing like what I ordered.

My wife also picked out a few other things, and rather than offer any sort of discount for the trouble of not having the order ready, the woman just kept saying how nice the arrangement was that I'd picked and how it was her favorite. I didn't press the issue because we were in a hurry, but in hindsight, she didn't even really apologize for the fact that the order wasn't ready.

I highly recommend Midtown Florist. Barry’s selection of flowers and floral arrangements are beautiful. You can’t help but stare and smile at the floral arrangements. Midtown florists use fresh flowers from roses to sunflowers, carnations, tuberoses, dahlias and peonies. All bunched well in perfect height and blend of colors.

Recently, Midtown flowers did the funeral flowers for our mother’s funeral. We loved the photo frame floral arrangement - pink and orange roses bordering a beautiful picture of our mother. A lilac standing spray, a beautiful pink and red shaped heart and a coffin spray with the most exquisite pink flowers. Barry’s attention to detail was evident. We also ordered table center pieces which were gorgeous. Many of our guests took home the flowers and they lasted so long.
