El Sabor Del Rancho Taqueria — Restaurant in New York

I’ve tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt more times than I can count, but enough is enough. I work nearby and have been ordering a very simple breakfast from here: an egg and cheese sandwich with hot sauce, butter, salt, and pepper. That’s it. And somehow, every single day last week, they messed it up. Sometimes they forgot the hot sauce. Other times, they skipped the butter or the seasoning. One day, they got it wrong three times in a row, which is honestly absurd.

I even sent a Spanish-speaking friend to make sure the order was understood clearly — and they still got it wrong. There seems to be a complete lack of communication and care from both the kitchen staff and the front counter. The employees seem more interested in joking around in the back than actually paying attention to what they’re doing.

Worse, I have a tomato allergy, and instead of putting hot sauce, they used ketchup on my sandwich. That’s not just a small mistake — it could’ve sent me to the hospital. When I brought this to their attention, it felt like they didn’t take it seriously at all. Food safety should be a top priority, and it clearly isn’t here.

I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated. A restaurant that can’t consistently fulfill such a basic order — and fails to respect food allergies — has no business serving customers. Until they get their act together and bring some structure and professionalism to both the kitchen and the front desk, I can’t recommend this place to anyone. You’re better off spending your money where staff are trained, attentive, and actually care about doing...

Omfg this place is insane!! I was super craving pancita for no reason and I was dying to get some honey comb tripes been grid searching for authentic Mexican shops that has stewed-to-tender pancita, then I found El Sabor! PORTION IS HUGE.

The pancita can easily fill a mid size pot🥹👌wow I’ve never seen so much meat in a soup! Spiced to perfection!

What’s even better they have like 20 different tacos, here’s what I got: -Lengua -Buche -Surtido -Cueritos -Suadero -Bistec -Cecina -Pastor

The outside of this restaurant looks like a run down deli, but I can assure you, just enter and you will find a small restaurant that serves up amazing and cheap Mexican food. The staff didn’t speak the best English, but we managed to order easily and got our food pretty quickly. The food is great and checked off all the boxes for me.
