Ellie's Diner — Restaurant in New York

Good Afternoon, I had an excellent experience at "Ellie's Diner" when ordering my breakfast today. I had the "Eggs Florentine" which had the best spinach and hollandaise sauce I ever tasted. The grits on the side was exceptional. My son had the "Strawberry Preserves Pancakes" which was out of this world. Excellent service from a friendly staff. Especially Aris, Carol and Brenda. I was very comfortable in ordering and well taken care of. Aris was very knowledgeable and able to give me great suggestions on my order. He had a smile on his face which goes a long way nowadays. You can tell he enjoys his job. Cheerful guy who makes you feel delighted with his enthusiasm. A multi-tasker as well. From taking my order to answering phones and communicating with the cashier-Carol. Making sure everything was in order. I was extremely impressed. Carol has taken care of me very few times. The few times I have encountered her, she never fails on impressing me with her ability to get the job done. She is excellent and professional in every way. Brenda is a great hostess. Very welcoming and answered my question in a very kind and courteous manner. You can definitely count on Aris, Carol and Brenda. They are extremely reliable. Thank you for making my day. The food was good. I like how the menu had dinner special section for the price of$13.75. You get a glass of wine, you can choose from a house salad or soup.A main course, dessert that could be jello or rice pudding.And, if you have space left in your belly,you get to end your meal with  a cup of coffee or tea. I really liked how the dinner specials had fish, italian dishes, porkchops and three different chicken dishes. I choose the lemon pepper and onions dish. It was delicious and I couldnt finsih my meal because it was too much food.

If you decide to take someone that has a problem walking down stairs, this restaurant is not a good place to visit, there isn't an elevator. I had to use the bathroom and I must say I was disappointed. The bathroom was not clean and there wasn't soap in the soap dispenser. Which made me think about the employees and the possibilty of the spread of germs. The worse part of it all for me, had to be the baby changing table. It was so dirty and had two dirty changing mats. I couldnt change my baby on that dirty table.It looked out of a horror scene. If you could overlook having to climb down a flight of stairs to use a dirty bathroom, then this restaurant...

Horrible service! Even though my coworker had expressed how awful this place is I still placed an order. It was a simple pasta yet it was an hour before the delivery personal called me, but then hung up. I immediately went outside to see if he was there, and proceeded to call him 8 times all with no pick up. I called the resturant the women on the other end couldnt possibly be any ruder. The claim was that he couldnt find the address and they would sent it again. At this point it is two hours and change since I placed my order and it still hasnt arrived. No contact from the resturants end at all. I would of cancelled if I hadnt already paid, so I chose to call back again. This time I was told my location was too far, so you know its about an 8 min walk from the restaurant (would of picked up my order if I wasn't at work.) Once I was able to speak with a manager my order arrived in 10 mins. He was unapologetic, and didn't compensate in any way, shape or form and when my food finally arrived, guess what? IT WAS COLD AND LOOKS HALF EATEN! Absolutely ridiculous! Never...
