We discovered Falu House a bit late—but ever since, it’s become one of our favorite spots in Williamsburg. There’s something truly special about this place. It feels thoughtful, cozy, and quietly elevated in all the right ways.
The coffee and matcha lattes are consistently excellent—smooth, balanced, and made with clearly high-quality ingredients. Their Swedish cardamom bun is absolutely addictive: tender, aromatic, and perfectly spiced, with that signature hint of cardamom that lingers in the best way.
The salmon toast is another standout—layered with soft, omelet-style eggs on house sourdough, served alongside a delicate spoonful of crème fraîche and roe. It’s a beautifully composed plate that’s both comforting and refined.
Don’t sleep on the gluten-free lemon olive oil loaf either—it’s incredibly moist, subtly zesty, and so delicious you’d never guess it’s gluten-free. Just one of those quiet surprises that makes you want to go back for seconds.
To top it all off, the owner is so kind and welcoming—it’s the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at home instantly.
Falu House feels like a little pocket of Scandinavia in the heart of Brooklyn and we’re so glad...

The beautiful displays and inviting atmosphere, however, were completely overshadowed by Emmy, the cashier/barista. They offer an amazing happy hour for small bites and coffee after 4 p.m., so we decided to linger a bit and enjoy a midday snack. What really crossed the line was when she boldly asked, “Is there a problem?” I initially thought about letting it slide, but since she inquired, I felt compelled to share my experience. As I anticipated, she didn’t offer an apology; instead, she provided a series of excuses for insisting that we pay for the items before sitting in the café. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 20 years, I found her behavior particularly disappointing. I wished the service was inviting and warm as the ambience of this new...
Read moreOh, where does one begin? Perhaps it was the street with birds chirping like a Disney movie intro, or the bright interior warmed by the morning sun that posed the question, "should I become an influencer girlie"? (Answer: no, I shan't because I don't know "how to TikTok). Maybe it was the locally sourced products merchandised inside? Whatever it was, the friendliest baristas (if you need fashion inspiration look no further than here), and the sweet smell of pastries complemented the extremely warm environment where I could slow down, rest, and simply enjoy the small joys of life. (My small joys being any coffee married to chocolate and wearing a warm coat of frothy milk on top). The mocha was delicious, and in Ina Garten's succinct...
