Hotel concierge said can’t do a NYC tour without a slice from Ray’s. Apparently used to be a local favorite before became tourist trap.
Since Ray’s is constantly making pizza you’ll get a fresh slice and not one 12 hours old. While we were waiting in line they put out 4 fresh pies for slices only. Fair warning, no prices are posted so you have no concept of what a slice costs until checkout. Guy in front of me had the buffalo chicken and it was over $7 for one slice. That’s crazy.
Our three slices, with tax, rang in at $21 and included pepperoni & sausage, vegetarian and supreme. Vegetarian super bland and too wet, wouldn’t order again. My date preferred the supreme and I the pepperoni and sausage. We should’ve order a simple cheese slice to really taste the crust and quality.
My main disappointment is none of the slices had the crust cooked enough so the bottoms were too doughy, even though it’s thin crust. You need a slightly charred bottom to hold the pizza together as a NY slice is the equivalent of two...
Read moreIf I could rate this place a -10 stars I would. This is the worst pizza I’ve ever had in 60 years of living on this planet.
We ordered one cheese slice, and two slices of pepperoni and sausage. Looking at the pictures what do you think this is? Looks like they took a can of mushroom slices and dumped it on top of the pizza after it was already cooked to disguise the fact the sausage was missing.
How they stay in business I have no clue! But I do know why they’re called famous, and it’s not because they’re the best. It’s because they’re the worst ‼️ Famous for being hideously atrocious. We will never order from them again. Luckily we ordered through Uber eats, and I was able to get a full refund. Not to mention I didn’t get my entire order. Besides pizza we ordered soft drinks we did not receive.
Don’t be fooled by the five star rating, that’s probably one of their relatives, if not the owner. Don’t waste your money or your time or your appetite on this nasty place. That’s just my suggestion. Don’t say you haven’t...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Slice, Great Vibes at Ray’s Pizza Ray’s Pizza is a solid go-to spot for a quick and tasty bite in the city. I stopped by one evening and was immediately drawn in by the vibrant signage and bustling atmosphere. The staff were friendly and kept things moving smoothly, even with a steady stream of customers. I tried a slice of pepperoni pizza with a twist—pesto sauce—and it was a pleasant surprise. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, and the crust had just the right amount of crisp. It’s clear they care about quality, even for a quick grab-and-go slice. The only reason I’m holding back one star is that while the pizza was great, the overall experience could be elevated with a bit more seating or ambiance inside. That said, it’s a fantastic spot for a late-night snack or a casual bite while exploring the city. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving a classic New York slice with a...
