This is such a nice spot to grab a bite if you're by Central Park, like we were. Service was simply the best. The Korean Fried Chicken appetizer was a pleasant surprise devoured by all. My 8-year-old was on a chicken tender kick, because he'd just insisted on Raising Cane's with his brother when we walked through Times Square at lunch time, and he said he considered the kids' tenders at Friedman's to be tastier... he also found out that he loves cheesecake. My Asian Chicken Salad 2.0 proved to be a perfect choice for the day. My husband ordered a matzo ball soup, and it definitely had a healthy twist. I didn't mind the lower sodium considering the tenderly fresh-pulled chicken incorporated with the consommé, but seeing these reviews, it may be the gluten-free aspect that left more of the matzo for me. =) My to-be 11-year-old did not enjoy the kids' macaroni and cheese option. This may've had to do with the gluten-free, because while he's all kinds of agreeable about whole grains, he may've expected a saltier and firmer bite. Once I separated off a good portion of the (delicious) cheese bits, he was fine with finishing it. We did add a touch of salt for him. I'm not sure what possessed my husband regarding their special drink, the mango habanero margarita, while daring aloud to weigh the option of skipping an Uber and walking another 15-blocks with our 8-year-old feigning death (the first 15-blocks were plenty for there and for back!), but those concoctions are $16 and the combination was simply tolerable for him. The mango was smooth like a daquiri with a heavy poor of liquor, so the bar must be conscientious about the price on that, but it probably doesn't do much for the flavor. So if something like that would be irritating to you in light of an Uber objection, maybe bother with a judgmental look right upon suggestion. Again, the service was stupendous in such an enjoyable space that was not full of families with young children, but did represent here and there. I loved that the waiter mentioned alternatives to the kids' menu fries, which includes an amazing fruit cup with blackberries and raspberries along with strawberry slices, and all of it pulled together when nicely ripened.
And no sweat about the frozen mango non-daquiri... I think my husband is compelled to try at least one of the listed specials, and everyone already found agreeable items on the regular menu. Mango imo is one of those delicate flavors that conveys high expectations for both flavor and texture. The oasis consistency is second-to-none, but alas, I was not the one looking for a...

EASTER SUNDAY (3:08pm) 3/31/2024
FRENCH TOAST WITH BERRIES AND STRAWBERRIES, Thick Cut bacon SCRAMBLED EGGS WITH ONIONS (side order) ICE LATTE MY PRINCESS’s ORDER: KIDS CHICKEN TENDERS WITH FRUITS.
There is a lot for me to say about this place. I believe during COVID 2019 this was the Friedman’s location I visited and I ate outside. I order chicken with waffles(Amazing but it immediately became cold lol because of the weather). Hahaha.
But anyways back to this review.
It had taken my a while to review this fine establishment because I’ve been so busy with LIFE ITSELF. Now I have the time to review this haha….while at work. Immediately every single staff at FRIEDMAN’s are attentive and just professional! Especially the manager…superb! They treated me and my daughter with respect, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! With extreme class. The entire place was just clean with a capital C! More than enough room for a stroller and high chair (although I wish they had a designated spot for parents(single parent) with strollers. They have a great kids menu for my daughter and a plastic utensils for the kids to use! A whole variety of options to choose from. The menu for the entirety of the restaurant, amazing plus vegan options too! My French toast was fluffy (you can also have the option to select how many pieces of toast you want), fully cooked and just tasted LIKE WHAT FRENCH TOAST WITH POWDERED SUGAR should taste like. The syrup…I’m a condiment king! I love condiments and my sauces on the side…the syrup is JUST BEAUTIFULLY delicious! The eggs is scrambled and SEASONED perfectly! Overall daddy and daughter time during EASTER SUNDAY (thank the LORD) ENDED AMAZING! Thank y’all for letting us dine with you FRIEDMAN’s

Read moreISSUE WITH BUSBOY
We had some guests visiting from abroad and out of state so we decided to choose Friedman's to meet up. As always, food was great and amazing - will always make a recommendation to anyone visiting for brunch.
We switched to a bigger table so that our friend can get seated more comfortably. We brought our menus over, but the busboy brought the glasses and utensils over to the new table. The busboy told us to bring the utensils, but we had bags, jackets, and we were already holding the menu so I told my guests it's okay they can help. But when the busboy brought those over, he seemed upset from the way he placed the glasses and utensils on the table. Here's the conversation immediately after:
Busboy: I don't understand why you didn't bring your utensils and glasses with you Me: Sorry was that a problem? Busboy: No, it's not a problem. Me: then why are you being aggressive? Busboy: I'm not aggressive, but why are you aggressive? Condescendingly smiles
My heart was pounding, anxiety was shooting up but I had to stay calm and just focus on giving my visiting friends a good time.
He was stationed right beside us and I got so uncomfortable of him looking back and kept smiling at me like he was taunting me or gaslighting me some more. At that point, was he trying to invoke a response from me? Thankfully I just learned to not be concerned and just enjoy the company with friends, but again it was so uncomfortable. I just wanted him to leave me alone. All this because we didn't bring other stuff over to the new table?
The server was great and I had to apologize as I felt like yeah we should've brought those utensils over, but please don't get...
