Glaze Teriyaki — Restaurant in New York

I had the misfortune of trying to eat at Glaze this evening. After arriving at 7:45pm and having our order taken, my wife and I waited for over an hour while never getting the food we purchased. During our wait the employees served two couples who came in well after we arrived.

The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. They spent most of their time complaining of being swamped with internet orders, yet two of the male employees stood by aimlessly. The other two employees tried, yet it was clear they had no system in place to fulfill orders.

Every 15 mins the cashier who took my order continued to assure us, "your order is next". However our order never came. After giving them over an hour to fill our order I asked the cashier to credit me my money as I could not wait any longer. It was during this time the a young lady from the kitchen asked me what my order name was and after I gave it to her she did not have my order in front of her.

I usually order in when I have Glaze but the IRL spot is an excellent place to grab a bite. The food (there or delivered) is delicious, always perfectly and consistently prepared, and of the highest quality. It's uncommon—in my experience—to have salmon delivered and still edible, or steak.. And often, chicken typically has to be completely overpowered with some sauce or spice or both to mask it's less than ideal texture after delivery. GLAZE IS DIFFERENT. Every protein from Glaze (and I have had them all many times) is perfeclty coked and remains delicious after delivery. Also, delivery has always been very fast from Wburg to the tip of Greenpoint... If I could give more...

Horrible customer service! I ordered from this place because it was the shortest estimated delivery time. I get a text from the restaurant saying 'food not started and delivery delayed' I told them to cancel the order as I didn't want to eat at midnight. The food still showed up after I had already order from somewhere else and eaten. Then the restaurant told me it was the delivery man that text and they didn't have authority to cancel the order. How is a customer supposed to know if it the restaurant or the delivery person??...
