So this place was disappointing to say the least! We came here to have a quick bite; we were a big group so we had to wait for a table; which is perfectly fine we didn’t have a reservation. The problem started with the server we haven’t sat down when she was asking if we knew what we would be having to drink. That was the first red flag.
After we sat down, I ordered a Pink Flirtini (when you see the ingredients it sounds delicious) it’s a lie! It tastes just like NyQuil- disgusting. I ordered fried calamari they were extremely hard, stale and not good! I made the mistake to asked the server for a recommendation she suggested the “Angel Hair Pasta - it comes in a white wine sauce with shrimp and Parmigiana cheese- this was the most over cooked pasta I have ever had! It was tasteless, I was forced to add salt, pepper and red chili pepper to give it some taste. I was forced to order a Prosecco because the original drink was so disgusting; finally I order tiramisu - I don’t know why I did this. Never in my life (and had eaten tiramisu in Italy) had had a tiramisu that tasted like it had powder cinnamon all over. One of the people that accompanied me ordered a burger it was salty. And to make matters worse they brought out the appetizers with the food and even the dessert! Like where is your sense of timing.
The server was just completely out of touch with time and once the food came out she never came to even check if we needed anything. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the hostess was very nice and they were able to accommodate us on a table and the decor is very festive.
It is safe to say that I will never go there not even if I’m starving and definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Don’t waste your money there are better places to grab a bite...
Read moreMy coworkers and I used to absolutely love this bar. We’ve visited many times, especially since our office is nearby, and the service from the waitstaff and bartenders has always been exceptional.
However, last night was a completely different experience. We walked into a nearly empty bar and were quickly seated at a high-top with limited surface area. While the service started off strong (waters were brought promptly and our orders were taken right away) unfortunately, the cramped space led to a spilled water. If you’ve ever worked in the service industry, or even just been to a restaurant, you know this happens often.
What followed, however, was deeply disappointing. The owner came over to help clean up the water, but instead of offering a kind gesture or asking if I was okay, he aggressively moved me out of the way and snapped, “I’m not doing this all night with you guys!!” I was left standing there soaked, without a single apology or offer of assistance. His attitude was shockingly disrespectful. To make matters worse, he assumed we were intoxicated, yet I hadn’t had a single drink that evening.
Later, when a coworker apologized for the spill, the owner didn’t even acknowledge the apology. He didn’t make eye contact, just walked right past us as if we weren’t there.
I want to be clear: the rest of the staff - our waiter and the bartenders - were fantastic, checking in frequently and providing excellent service. It's just incredibly disappointing that the owner, John, whom we had enjoyed interacting with in the past, treated us this way.
I truly hope this was an isolated incident, but I can’t ignore how badly it affected...
Read moreThis great addition to the neighborhood has only been open for about 2 months now but it has to fail to deliver and it is just what this $$$$ area needs for those of us who have outgrown Live Bait & No Idea (love you guys) but can't drop $18 per drink regularly (sorry Park Ave).
Nice long bar and not only do they have hooks for your bags but they have under bar outlets, (patron side) for charging all these devices we cannot seem to live without! There are plenty of TVs but there are not the focus of the space, easy to ignore if you choose. Also, huge points for appropriate music levels! Well done, no need to shout at the person standing next to you; easy to hold a conversation and all my visits have been at times when the place was at least 80% capacity. The very friendly bartenders can pour a perfect Guinness and the food is delicious. Pizza, delicious! Super thin crust, prosciutto, pepperoni and 3 cheese ($16?), yum! Steak salad, cooked perfectly and a very nice balance of greens; fish and chips, very large portion but not greasy! Turkey burgers that hang over the edges of the bun. Lamb lollipops that are some of the best things I have ever put in my mouth! Saw lots of food pass by all looked like fair portion sizes. They have a great draft selection and decent bottles, including a gluten free beer (Redbridge? I was drinking Guinness). Now serving brunch, lunch and dinner, ranging from apps to full plates. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, good crowd; prices reasonable (8+ different wines by the glass $8-$13). I haven't been on a weekend yet but I will...
