Do not use this company! I beg you.
The rudeness and horrible service, in all ways, is completely unacceptable.
I made a transfer for a lot of money (for my standards) to their account on Friday and it was sent on that day. A domestic transfer.
Monday morning I got notified my account was deactivated. Shortly after I got an email saying I needed to log in so I can enter my bank info to have the money returned to me. Only one issue, I couldn't log in as it was deactivated.
I called, the lady on the other end said she would put in the request and I will have the money within 1-2 days. Just in case, I emailed them again with my banking info and said I need this money back.
Tuesday, no money. Called again, told them it was extremely urgent, they said they see a request was made and they'll email me once the money is refunded. I said I needed it right away or I will miss out on opportunity of a life time and they hung up the phone.
Wednesday, no Money. Called again, told them the same thing, the person from Tuesday hung up on me, and that I am going to miss out on a this opportunity and I have a partner, and a seller (the manufacturer of this unique product) who don't want to work with me (and I had a buyer potentially lined up). They said we understand, we made a case, and before I can respond they hung up.
I called again right after, and the man said there isn't anything else he can do once the case is reviewed and the refund is made I can expect it back in 1-3 days. I said "can I give you my number to call me back when you hear something, or maybe their number, or email so I can reach out directly, I desperately need this returned to me." He responded he could not do anything else.
I just called the seller and my partner and they are fuming. I beg you please do not use this scam/joke of a company. What a disappointment. They are not just holding my money but also my partners and the seller wants to walk. I will update as this...
Read moreI’ve been using Wise for years, but honestly, I’m not happy at all. There are some serious issues. It’s super stressful when receiving transfers. I can’t sit here 24/7 checking my email just because of you.
You wrote to me saying: “Please upload your updated ID within 60 days. But until then, you can use Wise as usual without limits.” Fine. But around day 40, I received a transfer. And suddenly, you emailed me asking to confirm again how I use Wise (even though I had already answered those exact questions in the past).
I was out of the house and didn’t reply. Transfer cancelled. Ok, my fault you’ll say. Fair enough.
But then, I tried to upload the ID as requested, and guess what? There was a clear bug in your site and the upload link you sent me didn’t work. Great. Patience!
Eventually, I managed to upload the document. A few days later, I receive another transfer, and AGAIN you send me an email with the same questionnaire about how I use Wise. AGAIN?? Luckily this time I was home and saw the email in time. Otherwise, another cancelled transfer, because if you don’t reply within 2 days you just send the money back.
Am I really supposed to constantly monitor my inbox in fear? If you need my info, fine, I’ll give it to you—but ask everything in ONE SINGLE EMAIL, not like this:
-upload new ID explain again how I use the account upload fails because of your bug repeat the same questions again
Now I’m honestly scared to receive more transfers, because I know you’ll just block them and send them back to the...
Read moreUsed Transferwise for more than 8 years. Firm fan, recommended to family and friends. I can understand the surprise of some users regarding the literally hundreds of negative comments. I too would have been surprised. It only hits you when it happens. Whilst doing the same perfectly legal monthly transfer for staff salaries (that I have done for years) my account was closed for money laundering. Seems to be a common reason for closure. Thousands of pounds completely inaccessible. Then welcome to their customer services. Like I said it was 8 years with things flying along smoothly - up until this point - but oh dear me, once things go bad and you get to interact with the boys and girls at customer service, you are in for a treat. I imagine this review will get the Wise standard response about blah blah blah and you will keep on using their services and only realise how dangerous this business is, once the proverbial hits the fan. Truth be told this happened over 8 months ago and after 90 days I got all my money back (after sending a final demand before court action email of course) and so i have no skin in the game any longer. But the experience at the time was damaging, shocking and painful. Not a great way for a customer to feel. So I felt strangely compelled for some reason today, to visit their googles reviews, to see if things had...
