I work at the hospital a block away. Last year we had a party and I remembered that there was this bakery near by that offered one of my favorite pastries (the bread with pink sugar on top-I am sorry I forgot the exact name of the delicious pastry). However, I went inside a bit clueless as to what I should get for a medium party. The woman that worked there was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. She immediately new what I was looking for and what other people would potentially enjoy. I have shopped there a few times and also brought a friend who loves these pastries as well. What really touched my heart was when a man (of Hispanic culture) came in asking in Spanish "is there anything you may be getting rid of that I could have at no cost". She didn't question him, and definitely didn't give him anything old. She went to the freshest tray of pastries in the shop and gave to him, no questions asked. This is how I remember people in the our country, always willing to help others out if they have the opportunity to do so. I have told this "positive" story nemourous times. I will be Happy to go back and get more yummy bakery...

Read moreMy brother lives nearby so we stopped in one late afternoon and we were happy we did. Grab a tray and tongs and pick out whatever you want. Individual pieces seemed to be a dollar each! Nothing is labeled so we had no idea what was what but a teenage boy that was working there was awesome enough to tell us what things were and what they taste like. He was fantastic and I tried to leave my tip with him rather than in the jar but he wouldn't let me. Oh, and going back into the kitchen to make selections? Makes it even more homier and personable and just the way things should be. I wish I could take this place...
