Taqueria Baja California — Restaurant in New York

I didn't want Chipotle and wanted to try a local business so I stopped here. Service was pretty fast. The staff was nice and the tamarind agua fresca was decent. This is why I've given them a couple of stars.

The restaurant had only 2 customers. That should have been my red flag. The food was mid. The tortillas were not heated up. In the past when I've had carne asada it is usually seasoned to the Gods. There literally was not a speck of flavor on the beef nor chicken. Not even white table salt. Both were overcooked and dry. The rice and the salsa verde were lacking flavor.

There's plenty of good Mexican places in BK so 0 out of 10 - highly would not recommend. I should've went...

Veg Burrito is perfect size and taste, handheld and no leaks. Comes with just the right amount of freshly prepared fries. Guanábana (Guava) milkshake soothing and helps wash it all down. Service is no frills but warm and humble, as is the small place. Bring earplugs if you can’t stand TV, but it’s not loud either. Food actually came fast! Partner was on her moon time and the chicken soup made it all better, as did the Te de Manzanilla...
