GYRO KING — Restaurant in New York

Normally I get the gyro here (which is so good, especially if your looking for a sauce-y, spicy gyro) but I decided I wanted something a little lighter and not as messy.

I ordered the hamburger and fries, and I was really surprised at how good it was, especially for the price ($10.89 after all was said and done, and it came with a can of soda).

The beauty of their burger was you could add all the normal toppings that you can add for a gyro, so I added lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and hot peppers, plus white and red sauce to my burger.

With those toppings, the burger was delicious! Definitely a different take on a burger, but I like spicier food, so it was really really good.

The fries were also thinly cut and not too oily, similar to an upscaled version of McDonalds fries. I would definitely get the burger from here again.

If you're looking for a burger meal around $11 that you can customize and offers a little more food than a fast food burger place, I recommend the Gyro...

I was eating here time to time in the last 6 months and that place was getting worst every time. One day falafel started to taste dry, I switched to chicken over rice and it was okay. One day I saw how the guy took a bin with something from the floor and put it directly on the grill. I was silent about it but today was my last time. Their rice had so much different flavors and spices in it that it was impossible to eat. It felt like they took all possible spices from the Turkish market and put it together in that rice. I left 3 stars just because it used to be okay and I hope one day they will...

Very frustrated with our experience at Gyro King. We arrived at 10:45 PM, before their posted closing time of 11 PM, after traveling from downtown Brooklyn and passing many other options. Despite this, the staff told us they were already closed. The place was already cleaned, and the meats had been taken down, suggesting they stop serving 20-30 minutes before the stated time.
