I don't know why they call this Halal food, it should be called HOLLA, cause it makes me want to scream its so good. Smile. Walked into the place I'm not going to lie I expected the typical greasy Manhattan food you get from the trucks. You know those food trucks where they're stabbing and cutting up all the chicken on the grill and you have to hurry up and grab something to be back in front of your desk computer before the boss walks past LOL? Well to my surprise was nothing like that. As you can see from the pictures the place was very clean looking. Even the bathroom was clean not a spec of toilet paper or wet floors or nasty graffiti on the walls. Although it could have used an air freshener not to say that it's stink but nothing wrong for air freshener in the bathroom. So I ordered the chicken gyro and my goodness you talking about flavorful. The seasons were busting off like cannonballs in my mouth with flavors of garlic pepper a little bit of spice just to be cool down just enough from the white yogurt sauce that I asked to be spread on my gyro. The freshness of the salad that was used with the bitty bitty pieces of tomatoes and the horrible iceberg lettuce that no one has any type of reason to be eating it but nonetheless it was devoured. The bread was not hard around the rims as I have experienced somewhere else. And the employees that I met all were to take my order and engage in very little conversation. I prefer that way because they're not talking over your food you have all that food on display minimal talking should go on. They appear to be very clean and handling the food. I do wish they would add a vegetarian menu as well like a vegetarian gyro not using kofta but instead an actual veggie patty. Perhaps later...

Honestly, I’ve been here a couple of times and I’m from another state, but each time the food has been great. I don’t know why, but this time was a completely different experience. I called to place the order, and the person who answered sounded like they were about ten meters away from the phone. Still, the ordering itself went fine and I picked up the food without any issues.

Then I got to my car, opened the bag, and realized the food was already cold. That’s never happened before. On top of that, the quality just wasn’t there. Everything was mediocre this time. Especially the fries, which is mainly why I order from here. They’re usually crispy and flavorful, but this time they were limp, cold, and bland. Honestly disappointed.

I had asked for white sauce on the side, and no joke—it barely covered the bottom of the little black container. I was actually shocked when I opened it to pour on my food. When I asked for more, I was told it would be 50 cents. Alhamdullilah I declined, because if every container is only filled to 1/8th capacity,...

I wish there was a 6 star option! My cousin Taher told me about this spot, I came to villa to smoke and wanted some food. He said go there I said no it’s too far, I’d rather go to chubby burger and there it was he said it’s next door and it’s BOSS. So I made my way over and was greeted in a very welcoming fashion! I noticed the way the place is designed, very spacious and fayroz I believe his name was called me over and handed me a menu. He told me the best burger here was the heart attack burger so I ordered it with bacon on top. It came with fries and a drink for $8! Relive me when I tell you this burger was NOT DRY!! Delicious on every bite! I LOVED IT! It was totally worth the money. I’m glad I came in here because I will definitely be returning! I have a new favorite eatery on Steinway now, more convenient esp in the freezing cold. No more walking to chubby cause next door, the heavenly delicious burgers await! Oh I almost forgot, I’m so tired of plain old fries with my burger, THEY HAVE SEASONED FRIES AND ITS AMAZING #EatHalal...

"Holy cow, wow." -Literally my thought when the first forkful hit my mouth. 👍 My Mix Combo Over Rice Platter was super fresh and very tasty; I loved the visible seasoning. (Caraway seeds?) At $9.99, this combo included chicken and lamb, with hummus + white sauce, sauces being customizable when you submit your order on the order screens. I loved the diced up salad, and the hummus itself. I also ordered a side of falafel, which you purchase by individual falafel. These were a good choice, though they don't come with any sauce so order your preferred sauce separately, or, eat them with some of the hummus in the combo platter. The two order screens by the counter were easy enough to use, reminding me of Wawa order screens. Note, you can also order with the counter person. This place got busy for lunch but orders came out quickly! I was able to sit at a table to eat. Def a great spot, I'll be back to try other menu items.

Came all the way from Staten Island to check this place out. Worth it! I walked in and the staff took my order quickly and respectfully and gave me my food in under 2 minutes. I got the Mix Over Rice (lamb and chicken). It was excellent; very well seasoned and and well portioned. There was way more meat than you would expect from a halal food tray and I love that. The sauces tastes balanced, just enough spice to keep it interesting but not enough to burn my tongue. Fries were crispy and nicely seasoned, and the salad was diverse, it was not just lettuce and ranch, it had more content than most other halal providers. They stopped indoor dining but they left a tent outside for roadside dining, and they have face shields for their workers, so I'd say they handled this pandemic very well. If you are ever on Steinway or even in Astoria I strongly recommend you check this place out. I will be coming back soon, God willing.
