I got a basic drip and it was luke warm and on the bland side. Props to the barista who was very kind and offered a different drink, but I really just wanted a hot cup of plain coffee. It wasn’t crowded so good to sit down for a chat but the interior and music wasn’t exactly comfortable. Overall I feel like a cafes drip should be a staple and this one was definitely not one i would come back for.
Edit: owners response is wildin. “Petty” because the review contains a valid criticism that you don’t like? I respect the hustle for being a mom and pop cafe but that’s irrelevant to a good cafe experience. For the record I never advised people not to go, I simply said I would personally not be returning. I guess their expectation is for all reviews to have a heavy bias in their favor. Questionable take.
You’re in THE hub of hipster cafedom and your main offering — coffee — was subpar. After a splash of milk it was legitimately room temperature. I hope you can improve and best of luck. Oh and born and raised in ny btw, rich words coming from a cafe owner in east Williamsburg.
Edit 2: to respond to your edit the last thing I’ll say is that a business is not automatically worthy of praise just because it is small. I’m sorry you’re not happy to not receive 5 stars but I genuinely did not have a good experience and I’m simply being honest. I leave plenty of raving reviews for places that I think are exceptional. Good business would mean either taking the criticism into consideration or somehow rectifying it — throwing shade not only solidifies my opinion but is a bad look for everyone else who might see this....
Read moreNot a local by any means but this was such a wonderful stop after walking around Brooklyn and taking in the wonderful shops around the area. The employees are warm, welcoming, and know what they're doing.
My group ordered an Oat Matcha, a Mocha Latte, and an Espresso. The service was quick but not rushed. The mocha and matcha were unbelievably silky and tasted wonderful and the espresso was expressive without being offensive to the palate.
If you're searching for a place to rest, this seems to be the perfect cafe for locals to come in and study/work. I did not get to try anything on tap or any of the wine and I honestly regret not making time to come in again before my weeklong trip ended.
If I find myself in New York again, even for just a few hours, I will definitely be taking a visit to Here Bk.
Much love...
Read moreI came here randomly, looking for a cafe to do some work in. This place was great! A nice open space with a good amount of seating, including a booth side which is comfortable.
They have a lot of different cafe items and bar items and although I only got cafe related items, I enjoy the feeling of the duality. I also like that they close later than most cafes so I don't feel rushed to leave.
The music was nice as well, not too loud and not annoying radio music.
I got the blueberry scone and it was so good seriously.
I would...
