I was excited to finally try Hey Tea since I had heard so much about their drinks, but honestly my experience left a lot to be desired. The very first thing I noticed when I walked in was the smell it genuinely reeked of sewage. That kind of odor is impossible to ignore and really sets a negative tone before you even place your order. For a place that prides itself on presentation and atmosphere, the smell alone made it difficult to enjoy the visit.
On the plus side, the drinks themselves weren’t bad. I ordered one of their specialty teas and the flavor was decent, definitely better than your average boba shop. The texture of the toppings was also done well, so it’s clear the drinks are at least crafted with some care. If it was just about the drinks, I could see myself rating this spot higher.
Another major issue, though, is that they don’t provide bathrooms for customers. For a place that sells large drinks and expects people to hang around for a bit, not having restroom access is really inconvenient. Between the lack of basic amenities and the terrible odor inside, the experience felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
Overall, Hey Tea has decent drinks but the negatives far outweigh the positives. A strong sewage smell and no bathrooms make it hard to recommend. If they fix those issues, I’d consider giving it another chance, but as of now I wouldn’t go out of my...

Stopped by for a quick drink after lunch and decided to try their Regular Crisp Grape Bloom. The drink was definitely refreshing and light, perfect for a post-meal cool-down. However, I found the flavor to be a bit too subtle for my liking, it tasted somewhat watered down, and I was hoping for a stronger grape presence.
It could have just been a one-off inconsistency, so I’m not writing it off entirely. I’d be open to trying another flavor next time to see how it compares. The menu is pretty extensive and creative, which is one of the reasons I came in the first place.
On the plus side, the service was quick and efficient, even though the place was quite packed, which seems to be the norm here. Despite the crowd, the staff managed things well and the space felt clean and organized.
Overall, while the drink wasn’t quite what I expected this time, Hey Tea still shows promise. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of...
Read moreYou're better off walking to the Grand st location. The workers here are extremely unorganized and slow.
Came here on a bogo day and took 1 hour to get my PREORDERED drink (that said it was ready) while my friend 1 number ahead of me got theirs already. A whole hour apart to get our drinks even though our orders are back to back??? My drink along with other peoples were just sitting on the counter. The person in charge of passing it out? Pretending to wipe cups over and over again, ignoring the angry growing crowd. How are you going to not take orders AND not give orders, crowding the countertops with rotting drinks.
Came in today but saw bags shrewn across the counters and no one at the cashier area to take new orders even though it wasn't that busy. Turned my arse around and left after seeing that lol.
I've worked customer service food jobs before so I'm very understanding usually but this is a serious training issue/not hiring the...
