I work in nearby Nha Trang, thats why I went there a lot to buy lunch. And Thai Son where next store is more expensive but tastes better, in terms of price I ended up going to Nha Trang more. As the uncontrollable inflation nowadays , its understandable that the price goes up for food and for every little things in life. Before pandemic, Nha Trang charges bbq slices pork over vermicelli below 10 dollars, and now the price is up to $12 in short period of time. One time during the pandemic I went to get food ( when bbq slice pork over vermicelli is $11). I always order same stuffs in Nha Trang, which is bbq pork over vermicelli, I was told that the price has been changed to 11.50 dollars. I said I bought the same food last week and it’s 11dollars, you guys changing price so quick, and the waitress just smiled. After they have changed price to $11.50 , I been there less often than usual. And lately I’ve came back because like I say I work in nearby and this place is convenient for me. I ordered the bbq pork over vermicelli again, this time they charge for $12 while the menu showing $11.95, which is fine, Just 5 cents. Actually the food is tasty then before, so I been getting food a lot in Nha Trang, almost twice a week, and I referred my coworkers there. On March 30 that was my last time to got food there and it was $12 for BBQ slices pork over vermicelli. Today which is April 4, I called and ordered two (same thing )for a take out, it was extremely busy there due to Trump’s legal matters maybe. I went for a pick up and the Asian chubby waiter with impolite attitude, his was letting me wait for more than 10minutes which is understandable since they are having a busy hour. I told him I’m here for pick up, he thought I was there to order. Anyway, I saw my orders there in the counter, I could just pay and leave. But he makes me wait and wait and wait. I told him that’s my order and I only wanted to pay, that’s it. He checked and I ready to get my bill, he said it is $26, I was like shocking, what? $26? I told him BBB I bought exactly same thing for $12 each 4or 5 days ago. I asked him why, he told me they charge fees, I never been charged fees like that………… in fact I don’t care about an dollar difference but the truth is in my opinion I think this is scamming, and I told him I bought the same thing last week it was $12 , $12 plus $12 equal to $24. Then the chubby Asian guy asked an older Asian guy to come and said to him : she said it was $12 dollars for each other. The older Asian guy said to me: today is $13 for each. I got so piss because they charged more without any reasons, what do you mean today is $13 for each? And I told them I don’t want the orders anymore, then they said okay and take the orders back. In my point of view this is violation of consumer rights, because they changed price verbally (name the price whatever they wants) and according to the menu it was listed $11.95 Extremely disappointing the experience with Nha Trang today. What ashamed!!!!!!! Will never ever go back to them again! If you go , please check carefully on the...
Read moreNha Trang One, a hidden gem in the culinary world, holds the essence of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Nestled away, this hole in the wall restaurant has become our Sunday afternoon ritual.
Seating was a breeze, even during peak hours. The staff is welcoming, and we were promptly seated, setting the tone for an enjoyable experience.
The shrimp rolls, a delightful appetizer, arrived in a flash. At just $9, they were a pocket-friendly treat. The freshness and succulence of the shrimp combined with the delicate rice paper wrapping were a delightful start to our meal.
While the iced Vietnamese coffee had potential, it didn't quite hit the mark. At $5, it lacked the creamy richness that makes this beverage special. The coffee was strong, but the condensed milk flavor was strangely absent.
The standout of our meal was unquestionably the Bún thịt nướng. Priced at $13.95, it was a symphony of flavors. This dish featured tender pork, fragrant fresh herbs, and the irresistible crunch of fried spring rolls. The balance of sweet, savory, and aromatic notes was impeccable, making each bite a culinary adventure.
My companion opted for the Pho Do Bien, a seafood rice noodle soup priced at $12.95. It brimmed with an array of seafood, but the broth, while good, lacked the depth of flavor that could have elevated it to greatness. A longer simmering of the stock to infuse more seafood essence would have been appreciated.
After indulging in these flavorful dishes, we left Nha Trang One fully satisfied and with our wallets only slightly lighter. The service was swift, and the ambiance, though modest, exuded a cozy charm that added to the overall experience.
In conclusion, Nha Trang One is a testament to the richness of Vietnamese cuisine. While the iced coffee left something to be desired, the shrimp rolls and the Bún thịt nướng were undeniable stars of the show. Prices were reasonable, and the friendly service ensured we left with contented smiles, eager to return and explore more of their...
Read moreIt's sad how this place, which was once incredible and one of my favorite spots for pho, has changed. I remember traveling from Boston just to get their pho and going there every year for my birthday for over 15 years. This year I decided to go on my birthday again for good old times sake and did not have a good experience. I arrived and was seated at an uncomfortable corner table even though the place was empty. I asked to change it and they didn't seem very happy, but said on. I wasn't served tea, as it was customary in the past. The waiter comes over and asks "are you ready?" And I proceeded to ask for a medium pho with extra tendon. He said he couldn't do that, that I needed to order the large one if I wanted anything extra like that. I said ok give me the large one with extra tendon. They brought me a not so savory pho, no extra tendon, no tripe. Just broth, noodle, one small piece of tendon and some beef. I took two spoons and had to stop eating it. I asked for the check and left. They didn't even ask if anything was ok or why I was leaving when I obviously didn't eat the food. As I was leaving another patron came in, he was seated closet it the door and he asked to be moved as well as it was too cold and every time the door was opened it was too much. I noticed the waiter was also rude about just saying " yeah just go seat anywhere. When he chose a seat away from the door on the other side of the restaurant he was told he couldn't seat there. I remember this being such a nice place to visit. The food was great and had many memories. After the previous owner died, I noticed a change, but never thohght it would get this bad. I will try it again to see if it was...
