If you're looking for a halal fast food restaurant to try for the first time, this is it. The burgers are cooked to perfection, the buns are slightly toasted on top (not to the point that made the buns hard to chew and eat), the meat was tender and easy to chew as well. The chopped cheese slider had a nice cheese to meat ratio, with the addition of their peri peri sauce it just further enhanced the flavor of the burger. The fries were really crispy as well, unlike most fast food places where the fries are crispy while being simultaneously brunt and are to bite into, the fries here were both crispy and soft. The fries itself had almost its own unique flavor to them as they tasted great without any sauce. Coming from a big sauce dipper and lover, this is crazy. The portions are very generous as well. I tend to be a very slow eater but the food here was so good i really couldn't stop myself from taking another bite while the food in my mouth hadn't even been sallowed. If you like Bodega burgers/sandwiches and such, this place has various items that represent such. Various sauces to choose from as well each having their own unique notes.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also super cozy and had the vibes of street art. I live the way this restaurant has incorporated something that is so distinct and unique to the city of NYC outside their restaurant. The graffiti like art adds on extra person to the restaurant but it is not excessive to the point where you're irritated at it. The songs that are played at this restaurant are trending songs of late such as espresso by sabrina, which i find really nice considering most other places you go to and dine in have pretty out dated popular pop songs. I love the attention that was put into every corner of the restaurant.
This will differ from person to person but as someone who had been trying to cut off sugary drinks from my meals , i enjoy how this place carries zero sugar polar diet coke. Would definitely go again.
p.s. i usually only write bad reviews for restaurants that have terrible customer service and food so this was a rare case and think this itself just proves how...
Read moreIâve been a handful of times since theyâve opened. Tonight their kitchen was particularly backed up. Customers were waiting and starting to get impatient, with one remarking that âfast food canât take this long when McDonaldâs is right there.â So I offer this counterpoint: Iâm at a point in my life where whenever Iâve eaten âfast foodâ in the past year, it has only made me sad and regretful. Yes, your wait here will be longer if itâs a busy night. But having tasted their core competency, the difference in quality is night and day. The menu is far broader too, with an array of vegan offerings more diverse than what I typically see in a burger joint. And their selection of Boylanâs bottled sodas is so diverse, they had flavors I didnât even know Boylanâs made. Your local McDonalds just isnât bringing this kind of heat. Stick out the wait and enjoy.
edit: iâve since returned multiple times. burgers are consistent, sides and sandwiches hit hard (try the gobbler while itâs still in season!), and delicious shakes. i keep coming back for their namesake burger because i can really taste the brisket and short rib in that patty. even the vegan burger was flavorful beyond expectationâŠâveganâ doesnât always mean âflavor,â in my experience. if you live meatlessly and still want something indulgent, i...
Read moreAnother halal restaurant Iâm reviewing yet again but oddly enough I actually do like this place. I mean I was working nearby so I happened to stumble upon this store but I got to say the aesthetic and design of the store is pretty basic but the graffiti wall and big table dining make it seem outstanding. Their menu lists a whole bunch of items such as hot dogs, wings, burgers, fries, desert such as ice cream, cookies, cake etc. the drinks arenât much as they only have brands such as drink polar and jaritos but the value of the menu you get makes up for it. I recommend getting the 2 sliders, fries and soda deal which is only $7.99 but if you were looking to spend upwards of $20 then go for 1 or 2 scoops of ice cream with a hot dog and an extra drink on the side trust me your best choice is this in order to get a feel for the store cooking. The presentation isnât the best as they gave me ice cream in a regular drinking cup and they packaged the fool in standard mediocre brown bags but all the more to reinvest in the chain restaurant and ensure its success. Its is zabiha and HMS certified so no worries on that front. The portions arenât the best either as itâs pretty small for the pricing but the quality...
