Good Italian Restaurant on the UWS! Looks like you are in the library with all the book decor.
Location: It is located in Amsterdam Ave. There is an outdoor and indoor dining but we did the indoor cause they have a display of books on the walls. The table was tiny and also the plates. Kinda congested but it’s a very cozy spot.
Service: the staff were nice, they are very attentive and give us recommendations.
Food: The food was good! I felt like everything was fresh and made the same day.
OVEN ROASTED GARLIC BREAD: omg this was the best garlic bread I had! It was perfect with the burrata.
BURRATA: it was so fresh and creamy. The beets were sweet, i was shocked cause it was so good.
FRITTO MISTO: the calamari was soft inside and the outside was crispy.
CACIO E PEPE RAVIOLI: omg this was the best dish! The pasta was cooked al dente and the inside is so creamy! Plus there are shredded truffles on top! Get this!!
RISOTTO: this one is a must have as weel! The risotto was cooked perfectly! I can eat this everyday!
BRAISED SHORT RIBS: this one is my least favorite, even though the short rib were so soft and melts in your mouth, there is nothing extraordinary about it. The sauce and mashed potato were alright.
MOCHA TIRAMISU: you have to order this! It is so good! Perfect dessert! Soft and if you like mocha this is the best dessert for you.
CREME BRÛLÉE: I was not a fan, the flan was soft but it has lavender flavor in it that it makes it taste like flower.
ARANCIATA ROSSA: get this soda drink from Italy! It’s basically blood orange but it is so good!
Price rating: 7/10. To be honest the price is not bad for the good food.
I will definitely come back here and try their other food. Must haves are Risotto, ravioli and...
Read moreWe just had a near perfect dinner at Osteria Accademia. First, I love the ambiance: cozy (with the bookshelves) and great lighting that was not too bright at all - and bossa nova playing in the background. The dishes I and my party had were: caesar salad, garlic bread, short ribs, chicken farm, broccoli rabe, and orata. Everything was fabulous, and the portions were very generous. The caesar salad was big and crisp and the dressing actually tasted like it had anchovies in it. Amazing. The garlic bread was the best garlic bread I'd ever had (it had something gooey in the middle, probably cheese). It was sublime. My chicken was absolutely delicious and it also came with an arugula salad that was sizable and really tasty. My white wine was refreshing and they give you a pretty big pour. For dessert, we had the cheesecake, which tasted like a mixture of Italian and New York cheesecake: the perfect level of sweetness (plus it was topped with sour cherries and it had a yummy graham cracker crust). The service was top notch. The prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of food and service the restaurant provides. Perhaps the only negatives were the two glasses of red wine (their chianti and another one they said most resembled a pinot noir) that got mediocre reviews by my husband and mother, respectively. But altogether, I give the restaurant a...
Read moreGreat experience at Osteria Accademia . The interior is really nice with soft lighting and an elegant vibe . The servers are so nice ,friendly and helpful. The food was delicious . We were welcomed with a basket of freshly made warm focaccia. As appetizers we shared a creamy Vitello tonnato with capers and tuna, a perfectly cryspy fritto misto with calamari, shrimps and zucchini , Grilled octopus on toasted bread, and a baby kale Caesar salad that was full of flavor. If you would like to taste traditional, homemade pasta, this is the place ! We enjoyed the Veal ravioli in butter sage and parmigiano and Tagliatelle with meat sauce . They were both delish! As a second course we had the Orata marinated with fresh herbs and served with broccoli rabe and roasted potatoes.we loved it ! They had a great selection of wines on the menu. We really liked the Pinot Grigio from Trentino Alto Adige, it paired perfectly with our meal. As dessert we had a delicious tiramisu that was the perfect combination of smooth mascarpone and coffee. I highly recommend coming here for authentic Italian cuisine ! It felt like been at home in Italy with the flavors and taste of traditional Italian food and it was so nice to have Italian music in the background which made it definitely...
