what a great little find!! We were staying next door at the Gallivant hotel and the place was convenient in between shopping and theater. We had reservations earlyish at 530, for 3 people. When we arrived we were told the dinning room was upstairs, not the main floor pub/saloon area we peeked in on. After climbing the gorgeous wrought iron stairs we were welcomed into a much quieter (than the downstairs pub/bar area we thought we were eating in) to a lovely charming upper saloon. We were seated in a quaint little booth at the top area of the staircase on the right of the restaurant It was quieter yet not fussy. We had to take a double look at the menu...we were expecting the norm pub food like bangers and mash, chicken pot pie and fish and chips, but the selection of other items was selective but unique! we ordered a corn-beef sandwich, pasta with veggies and chicken and a chicken breast sandwich with grilled veggies, i customized it with different ingredients i saw on other dishes, with a and approving smile from our waiter. The corn beef was very lean, flavorful and moist and not salty like at the other delis places in the area. The kraut and dressing were a great balance to eachother and the bread was super soft! The pasta dish had more chicken and veggies that any dish we have every ordered (vs the skimpy portion of protein other places tend to offer). he sauces was rich and creamy. My chicken sandwich i removed from the bun, not because the bun was not good, but the veggies and goat cheese on the chicken were so good, i didn't want to bother with the bun, but enjoy it on its own! our service was prompt but not rushed. Coffee was...
Read moreWe made 4:00 reservations days in advance through the restaurant directly. We were greeted by an older blond woman who “ could not find “ our reservation. I had even called the day before to confirm the reservations. She then asked us “ How we even made an appointment “ as they had stopped taking appointments days ago . I told her that we booked directly with them through their official website .
She led us upstairs to the empty dining room and said that she might find something . We were placed in the same corner that other reviews complained about despite our original reservation requesting a booth .
The table was crammed into the corner and the scaffolding and construction equipment was in direct view . Water damage all over the ceiling and wall paper was literally tearing off the walls . It was scotch taped back into the wall in spots.
Service was initially very slow despite no diners other than us on second level at time of entry . No water for the table , but the waiter came by with a pitcher to refill the glasses that nobody brought .
Food was not bad , but not rave worthy . Service from waitstaff was terrible and many items On the menu were not available .
I have actually been here twice now and each time was awful. We booked this a last minute after theater meal and it wasn’t worth it . Plan better and book yourself a much nicer restaurant .
No customer service skills / rude older hostess who was interrogative without reason / lack of wait staff / filthy and dilapidated ceilings and walls . Nope . Not ever coming back and will actively recommend...

The restaurant itself seemed clean and it actually had a bit of an upscale appearance, it was nice. Also decorated for the holiday season, but not in a tacky way. Our actual dining table was not awesome, it wasn't level because of the folding panels that turn your table from a smaller 4-seater square to a larger 6-seater circle. As a result, nearly all of our plates were resting on a hill that caused your plates to rock and rattle when you interacted with it. The other option was that you pull your plate closer to you, but then it's on a downward slope towards your lap. Probably an isolated incident, and not something I think should stop you from visiting. Despite that, the service by the staff was extremely attentive which was great. The food itself though was neither good nor bad, it was pretty mediocre. Not a very diverse menu, but I think enough options to satisfy most people. It's just that despite 5 different orders of entrees to the table, none were memorable or particularly fulfilling. Generous portions, but lacking in interesting flavor. I wouldn't say to avoid the place, but I don't know if it should top...
