Our reviews had over 34 million views so far this year. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love Jaz Indian Cuisine restaurant. Just opened in early 2022 but already has a great reputation and was voted best resturant in Hell's Kitchen. Well deserved. We ate at the bar and the bartender was the owner "Jaz". We explained we had rarely had Indian food so she designed our menu. Not sure of all the things she ordered for us, but all of them were awesome. We did get garlic Naan which is a thin fried flat bread that was great for dipping all of the food. I had a lamb dish and Maria had a shrimp dish and a chicken dish. All of them were full of flavor. You tell them the heat amount you want. We started at zero and went to 5. We probably would have preferred 5 to 8 next time, but we wanted to start low just to be sure we were not overwhelmed. The heat they use is full of flavor, which we really liked. Be sure to get the fried onion things with green dipping sauce, they are super delicious. I think they are called Onion Fritters. Lovely. We got 3 desserts that had names I could not pronounce. All of them are really good. Jaz is a great place and Jaz herself is fun to talk to as well as some of the regulars that sit at the bar. About 20 tables but get a reservation to avoid the wait. Full bar here and drinks were strong and reasonably priced. Be sure to have Jaz suggest food and drinks, she is the best!!!! Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. Read moreUnfortunately, we had a terrible experience at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. I would never write a review like this, but the owner really left me no choice. We went to the restaurant prior to attending a concert at Carnegie Hall. It was 4 of us, including my elderly parents. The host / owner greeted us warmly and it went very downhill from there. Another guest came into the restaurant about 15 min after we arrived - he was either already drunk or quickly got drunk. He sat at the bar; the restaurant is relatively small so his behavior was particularly disruptive. He proceeded to swear loudly and talk inappropriately to the other guests at the bar (e.g. he asked who likes anal sex). He was so loud in talking about his travels, his wealth, etc that we could not have a conversation ourselves. He completely ruined our experience. I raised this with Jaz - the owner - and she said there was nothing she could do, and that he was not a regular, but came in every 6 months or so. I told her he would be kicked out of any NYC restaurant, but she chose not to do that, and instead - he completely ruined our meal. Jaz should have taken action as he was getting louder and should have cut off his supply of alcohol. We left as quickly as we could after we finished our meal. I sent an email to the owner following this event, and she said "Our patrons are very important to us, and as a small restaurant, we genuinely value each experience. I kindly ask that you refrain from writing a review based on this incident". I do not believe their patrons matter to them as much as she says they do - or she would have taken action to stop this disruptive behavior. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone - since I believe this customer must come in frequently if they are tolerating...
Read moreJaz offers exceptional Indian food, serving up a delightful blend of traditional flavors with authenticity and elegance. The food at Jaz is truly a standout. The menu is a curated mix of classic Indian dishes, ensuring that there's something for everyone. The appetizer selection is particularly impressive, with dishes like samosa and mixed pakoras that are perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with savory stuff.
For the main course, the butter chicken is rich and creamy, with just the right balance of spices, while the lamb rogan josh is tender and packed with deep, aromatic flavors. Vegetarians will love the dal makhani, a slow-cooked lentil dish that's both comforting and flavorful. And don't miss the naan, which is perfectly charred and fluffy, ideal for scooping up all the delicious curries.
The service at Jaz is attentive and knowledgeable. Our server was more than happy to recommend pairings, and their suggestions were spot on. The staff's warmth and professionalism contributed to an overall enjoyable atmosphere. They made sure to check in at the right moments without being intrusive, which made for a smooth, relaxed dining experience.
