I never had mofongo before and been wanting to try it. I had the pernil mofongo with rice and beans. I also had a lemonade. The broth that came with the mofongo was so flavorful! I definitely enjoyed my food. I was stuffed half way through. I see why the place is always packed.

Delicious. The Penil, rice & beans, platanos & also I got the blood sausage. Everything was excellent, although the sweet platanos were a bit dry but they made them to order so maybe it was rushed. The rest of the food was much better than the neighboring restaurants.

Spanish soul food lovers, if you're looking for morcilla, this is the best in bklyn; perfectly seasoned, reasonably priced. They also have an excellent tripe soup, chicken soup, rice & peas, roast chicken, roast pork, and more. I always stop by when I'm in the neighborhood. Update: Aug.2025 I am so glad to see that they are now open after the fire. It's been over 2yrs & their interior looks amazing! The ambience has upgraded tremendously. They look more like a full fledged restaurant instead of a simple spanish diner. Their food is still delicious, especially the morcilla (blood sausage), which is the main reason I come here, is the best I've had since my mother's. Excellent service & huge portions. It's a nice place to...

I was saddened when the fire happened, La Isla has been a staple in Sunset Park. Thrilled to learn they reopened and I drove from staten island to bless them with return business. They now been open 6 weeks and the place looks like they are still moving in. Zero ambience. How can you call it "La Isla" and not have some art or flag or anything to look at? Speaking of looking at, where is the food??? Formerly, their display allowed you to see their delicious food. Don't they know people eat with their eyes? The menu doesn't even have pictures, so its virtually impossible to know what's gonna be good or what has sat their all day. The bathroom door does not lock, hello???

I ended up ordering an empanada just to...

This place has been closed for a while now due to a fire , It reopened Today Monday July 21st 2025 , l am sad to say it changed drastically for the worse, don’t waste your time and money, They used to have all the food visible across the counter and by the window showcase. Now you have to order from the menu which has no pictures. So one doesn’t know what you are going to get. I ordered two alcapurrias to see what they had, they were small and dry, not even close to what they had before. Total disappointment. The way I see it they should have remained closed or open up a different kind restaurant 😏🥴 , and the prices went UP ⬆️ Pity , this was the best cuchifrito venue in Brooklyn as far as I know 🤟 , Another one bites...
