Langan's — Restaurant in New York

Worst dining experience in a long time. Not sure how this restaurant has such great reviews. Our server never brought over our drinks from the bar, not even sure he rang them in even though they use tablets at the table. We ordered drinks and meals all at once since it took over 10 mins to get greeted and we had a show after dinner. He never once checked to see how we were doing or if we needed anything else. The guy who brought our food out, we asked him about our bar drinks and he told our server right in front of us and our server said ok, then STILL never got them or came to check on us. I had to stand by my table when we were done eating, the food was nothing special for our burger and sandwich, and flag the manager over who also brushed us off and had a different server come and bring us our check. This server was at least nice and apologized for the lack of service we got. NOW our original server decided to want to get us out of there because he came and got my card, didn’t say a word still, brought it back without another word, no apology or thank you for coming. To no surprise, our bar drinks were not on the bill since they weren’t received. I would’ve avoided leaving this review on how terrible this restaurant is if the manager had taken 2 seconds away from socializing with who I can only assume are their regulars, to come fix all the issues that went wrong, but she didn’t. I recently hosted a corporate event at Langans, and I can't speak highly enough about the experience! Located conveniently near Rockefeller Center, it's a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was inviting and stylish, setting the perfect tone for our gathering.

The food and drinks were absolutely outstanding. The standout dishes for me were the popcorn shrimp and the tuna tartare—both were a hit among our guests. The popcorn shrimp was perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor, while the tuna tartare was fresh and beautifully presented. It’s clear that the chefs at Langans are passionate about what they do.

The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly. They were always on hand to refill drinks and cater to our needs without being intrusive.

I went for Lunch in Langans at the weekend just gone. Langan’s Bar in New York is everything you want from a classic Midtown spot — warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The ambiance is a perfect blend of cozy pub vibes and upscale comfort, making it a great spot for both casual drinks and a full meal.

What truly set this visit apart, though, was our Irish server, Jack. He was phenomenal — attentive without being overbearing, extremely friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He made fantastic recommendations for both food and drink & checked in at all the right times, and made myself and my family feel like VIPs the entire evening. It’s rare to come across service in NYC that feels that personal and effortless, but Jack nailed it.

The food was excellent, the drinks were strong and well-crafted, and the energy in the place was contagious. Whether you’re a local or just visiting the city, Langan’s is the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to — and if you’re lucky enough to have Jack as your server, you’re in for a five-star experience all around.
