My friend and I went here prime time on a Friday night and, given its high Zagat rating, we were surprised that we had no trouble getting a table. The food was excellent. We ordered three things. The Brussel sprouts were not whole but shaved and served with a nice dressing and crunchy things (either nuts or dried chick peas). I never had sprouts this way and loved the flavor. My friend enjoyed her kale salad. I ordered the orecchiette with chicken, a combination I never saw before, and it was spectacular. The pasta was quite large and seemed homemade. The shaved/grated Parmesan on top was flavorful. All together one of the best pastas I’ve had. It was a large portion, too, but I was sure to eat every bite. Service was also great: efficient and pleasant without being overbearing. Our waiter recommended a cocktail from the menu (with tequila and grapefruit juice) and I really liked it. Expertly made. Came in here on a whim and what a great choice it was! Tucked into a quiet, cozy corner of the neighborhood, the decor and atmosphere felt like stepping into your cool, eclectic aunt’s house to catch up over a bottle of wine.

Food was excellent - approachable fare with some touches to make each dish unique and special to the restaurant:

Fried pickles - fresh, thinly sliced hand pickled cucumbers in a crispy batter. Never had any like this before and I’ll think of their freshness often when back in Chicago! Steak Frites was divine as well - the green peppercorns and the crust on the steak made for an excellent dish Rotisserie Chicken Baguette was like cheesy garlic bread with broccoli and chicken. I think this was our favorite of all of the things we got! Oysters, according to my dad, were the best he ever had!

If you just want something cozy and a menu that’s full of classics with a bit of flair, this...

The waiter was great. However, the general manager can’t recall her name, but she was very welcoming unpleasant having sidebars with the staff in regards to me made me feel very uncomfortable and I’m disturbed by this establishment.I thought it was unprofessional, lack elegance, and uncouth also I thought like I was being rushed. I had a glass of wine, happy hour, and some Parmesan fries first time in Restaurant confrontation with white people ridiculous. It’s crazy it feels crazy it is crazy part of the psyche Systemic, micro, aggression, passive aggressive racism need to be examined for what it is. but what it is racism. What are they without that? regards as she was like rushing didn’t even ask the next table where they OK I was asked twice and she had The host, Tablet iPad .my name is Joseph please note she needs to take a culture class and a fine dining course in hospitality.

Best first time...
