Delicious. These cookies are so worth the hype! We got the traditional chocolate chip with walnuts and the peanut butter chocolate one. I must say that the original is the one to go for. It is crispy on the outside and super gooey in the middle, almost like raw cookie dough but in the best way possible. The chocolate chips were still slightly melted still so it was perfect! I didn’t like the peanut butter as much. I love peanut butter but for me there wasn’t enough peanut butter flavor. I would maybe do streaks of peanut butter and peanuts instead of the chips. But I understand it might not work in the recipe. The chocolate dough is also less gooey probably because of the cocoa. So if I had to give advice I would say stick to the classic one! Also don’t make the same mistake as I did and order two cookies. One is more than enough 😂 My mom also tried their sticky walnut buns and she was super happy with it. It was overflowing with walnuts. I have never seen so many whole walnuts in a sticky bun! The place is quite small and there are only two seating places inside. Maybe some outdoor seats would be nice but I understand it might not be possible.

I heard a lot about this place and it took some time to finally get there. I’m so happy I tried something that wasn’t their popular item because now I know they’re truly delicious. Atmosphere: it’s a bakery kitchen with a small sales counter and barstools. It’s very clean and looks very orderly. The staff was very diverse and everyone looked to be in a great mood. Smells not too sweet and very clean. Food: I tried the muffin and I was so pleased. Damn that’s a good muffin. Lots of egg and butter. Not much sugar. It’s dusted with sugar but the muffin isn’t too sweet and I was happy. Service: fast and friendly. No one was there when I was ordering. The crowds started pouring in when I was sitting outside. I could hear the counter people greet everyone. Everyone seems to love this place. I’d return many time. I wish the cookies were cheaper. They’re definitely delicious.

Googled ‘best cookies’ & this bakery came highly recommended to try in NYC ~ It did not disappoint. Some of the best cookies I’ve had! I tried the No. 1 bestseller, Choc chip walnut first & it was insanely good. Warm, slightly crispy on the outside but perfectly soft & gooey on the inside w the subtle crunch of the walnut. I ate the whole thing in one sitting which was a lot to handle but I don’t regret it. I later enjoyed the Dark Choc Peanut Butter at home. That’s my fave one 🥰 I ended up ordering 10 more cookies online the next day to take back home to New Zealand for my family to taste a little bit of NYC. Safe to say, they all enjoyed them. Thank you Levain Bakery, Harlem! Your warm, friendly & efficient service did not go unnoticed either. I can’t wait to come back☺️

They’re okay cookies. They taste better warm. I’m just a bit disappointed because I placed a pick-up order on Postmates and they left out one of my items. I didn’t realize until I was already home. Also, I ordered 3 double chocolate chip cookies because I don’t like dark chocolate and I didn’t want nuts in my cookie. Took a bite into my chocolate chip cookies and it tasted like straight dark chocolate. Maybe it was a mistake, but on my own personal preference, I wasn’t satisfied with the taste, which is why I ordered double chocolate chip cookies instead of their dark chocolate. It was way too overwhelming of a flavor for me to enjoy, unfortunately. The cookie part without the chocolate chips was good though— nice and buttery.

Best cookies I have ever had. If you DONT like big cookies, with gooey/soft centers, and instead prefer crisper cookies, then dont come here! But this is one of the best cookies I think you'd be able to find otherwise. Each cookie is 4$, a steep price, but they are certainly addictive. I've been to 3 of their other branches in NYC/Long Island and can't get enough still. This location is very small, and the venue looks significantly smaller than their two other NYC branches, but the quality is the same. I only came here once, but it was perfect just as the other three branches, so you'll get consistency in what to expect. Just two tips: don't think about the calories and don't think about the price.

A crazy Aussie friend told me about this place and I didn't believe him. Today I was walking by and stumbled upon Levain Bakery in Harlem (the original one I think is somewhere in W 70s) so had to check whether he was right. And he was, I got two chocolate chips and walnut cookies which I have to say where amazing and the best I've had so far not only in NYC but in the U.S. Super tasty and filling, I need to go and get more. Not pricey either at 4 bucks each, money very well spent. They also serve other cookies and cakes which I did not try so I need to go again. Coffee available too but no seating in this place, only take away. OMG the cookies were so good!
