@levainbakery just launched their SPRING COOKIE: Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip. I don’t particularly like coconut, but devoured this. Tastes like magic bars! Available for a limited time online and in stores! #levainbakery #cookies #chocolatechip #eater #thrillist #foodnetwork #foodandwine #uppereastside #dessert #nycbucketlist #mysecretnyc #nybucketlist #coconut

Ok, it’s my turn to talk about how legendary Levain is. First off, my first time having their cookies were only in 2020, during the pandemic. I’ve heard about them from everyone and everywhere, and it was time for me to see if they lived up to the hype. Their silent rival, Chip NYC, was my favorite at the time. In fact, I bought some cookies from both Chip AND Levain on the same day, to see who in fact, made the better cookie. I remember I got Levain’s OG chocolate chip walnut flavor, as well as their double chocolate chip cookie. I went to Chip and got their chocolate chip, as well as their chocolate peanut butter cookie. I tried Levain first, as it was my first time, and my saliva had begun running down my face at the sight of their cookies. It was time. I tried their OG flavor first, and I instantly drifted into the clouds. The butter that you could literally see oozing from this cookie is enough to make you a believer. So needless to say, it was moist, soft, fresh, crunchy yet chewy, chocolatey….just all the right things. I then bit into their double chocolate chip cookie and couldn’t believe my taste buds. To me, this one was better than the OG flavor. It tasted like a brookie (brownie/cookie). It was just beautifully done, moist, sexy, and all the good things. It was in that moment, that I realized exactly why everyone raves about these cookies. It’s because they are actually LIFE-CHANGING! They lived beyond the hype! I then tasted the Chip NYC cookies afterwards. Though I’ve tried them before, and enjoyed them, they were NO match for Levain. The difference in taste, texture, etc. is night and day. No shade to Chip. Levain is legendary. They really got this recipe down! They hold that crown, man. I’m just being honest.

So this is an extension of their West Side location, and it's much larger. There's more space inside overall and more space to sit. It's very modern and bright. When my friend and I arrived, there was a little line but it moved very quickly. I guess that was both good and bad, because we felt quite rushed. It was also hard to see the products with people in line covering the display, and we had to weave around them to see what the cookies looked like. All while the cashiers were staring at us like we should hurry up. We ordered one Walnut Chocolate Chip cookie each to have at the store, I got an iced coffee, and my friend got the Oatmeal Cookie as well as a Dark Chocolate cookie. The Walnut Chocolate Chip was just as fantastic as I remembered it to be! I'd keep coming back for this one. However, the Oatmeal Cookie was a bit of a let down. It was missing that special something that you usually get in an Oatmeal Cookie.. The warmth? Cinnamon? Some sort of spice? I really don't know. It was fine, just wasn't a knock-out. The iced coffee was just alright as well, nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. I also really liked their sip lids that help avoid using straws. You have to be extra careful with these, but they're worth it. Overall, it's worth a try. Go for the Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie if you can, I think that's their main attraction. It's pricey at $4.00 a cookie, but they're large and filling. They also offer some sort of chocolate chip buns or banana bread or something of that sort, but I've never tried them. So if cookies aren't your thing, you might find something else here that you'd like.

I visited this bakery today for the first time. (Sunday 2/23/25 @9:30AM) I’ve heard a ton about this place from close friends so I thought I’d try it while I’m here on a work trip. I expected to try the famous warm fresh cookies. Instead it was cold and solid as a rock. I still liked the flavor, just would have liked it warm or fresh. However, that didn’t bother me too much. The issue here is that their customer service was horrible. Walk in and no one greets you. 3-4 girls were working this morning & 1 other male employee was busy with a couple. My colleague asked for a box for her order and a bag. The employee literally had the rudest most frustrated face as if she was annoyed by that.. I had seen they had another cookie I would possibly like to try so I bought a second cookie. I asked if I can have a box for that one and another employee also seemed annoyed bc I asked for a box. Keep in mind there was no one in line behind us. I felt my colleague and I were very kind to the employees. I was confused. Unfortunately, I left very uncomfortable. Was excited to try the cookies instead left super disappointed. Didn’t even feel comfortable enough to sit outside. Felt very unwelcomed. This is the first time I leave any review for any establishment. I was just extremely disappointed.

The love of my life. I want to have these cookies at my wedding. Every time I come to NYC, I always make it a point to buy cookies. These are legitimately the best cookies ever. They’re very dense and heavy - there’s plenty of butter in the dough. The chocolate chip walnut cookie is my favorite one, and is generously sprinkled with chocolates and thick chunks of walnuts the chocolate peanut butter cookie is also very heavy and has more of a fudge-y texture. The peanut butter chips are really smooth and it’s such a pleasure to eat. The double chocolate one is the richest cookie in my option and is best split. There’s a ton of chocolate. The cookies are all very thick and heavy so be aware that they’re calorie bombs, but they’re well worth it! They take credit card and they’re efficient about checking you out. The upper west side one is a smaller location, and the upper east side one is newer and bigger. That one has some counter stool seating. You could order the cookies online and have them shipped but it’s pretty pricey. Levain is totally worth the trip to uptown regardless of where you’re staying. Highly recommend coming here and getting a cookie (or two or three or eight so you could freeze them and heat up later on).

Cookie monster here! Omg best cookies in the entire world! And look how ginormous it is, a must try in NYC! Location: It is located in Upper East side, it is at the corner of subway station so you won’t miss it! The interior is huge but not dine in cause of covid! But very organize. Service: not really interact with them, just buy and go! But you might ask them if it is your first time! Food: Everything was so delicious and ginormous! You will love all the flavors! CHOCO CHIP WALNUT: this the original flavor, this is so good! Best choco chip cookie I had! Big chunks of chocolate inside! DARK CHOCOLATE CHIP: omg so dark and gooey! Perfect for tea! DARK CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER: this is my favorite!! A must if you go! The chunks of peanut butter pieces is just heavenly good! I don’t usually like peanut butter but this is an exemption! CHOCO CHIP BRIOCHE: meh, sorry this is the list I like here, the brioche itself is hard and taste old, maybe only that day. So just by cookies! Price rating: 7/10, the price matches all the deliciousness! Not bad for all the goodness. Been here multiple times so I am sure I am going back for the gooey deliciousness cookies! Get the DARK CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER!!
