My boyfriend and I are locals who have been loyal to this spot for nearly two years. We bring our friends here and loved telling people about this spot. Unfortunately last night was my last time bringing my business here. My friends and I came for pizza after a night out. My two friends ordered garlic knots and two slices. I separately ordered one slice. The worker HANDED us our orders and we realized they accidentally gave us an order of garlic knots with my slice that I had not ordered. Out of courtesy I let them know that I had not ordered these. I expected them to just say it’s on the house as my order is already IN MY HANDS. The worker REACHES OVER with a spatula and literally took out the garlic knots from the pizza box in my hands. He then asks me if I want to keep the marinara sauce that came with the knots. I absolutely said no. I cannot believe he had the idea to reach over and take food off of a customer’s plate. If he wanted the garlic knots back that badly, request my pizza box back and go do that behind the counter. That is such cheap and dirty behavior and I am so shocked and disappointed that this behavior came from this establishment. We truly loved libretto’s so much. Most of the workers here are very kind and we’ve come to even say hello to some of them. This review is not written out of anger, but sheer disappointment. So sad that I can no longer give business to this establishment as we truly were so loyal...

Are you hungry? Was the question I answered with, ā€œI could eat a small child.ā€ Libretto’s was between me and my destination and I took the busy lunchtime line to be a good sign. I wasn’t disappointed.

Like a well oiled machine the friendly staff were cranking out amazing New York slices one after the other. For less than $20 we found ourselves with 4 slices and two drinks sitting at a table less than 5 minutes after walking in. Much of the banter between customers and staff was familiar like old friends or distant relatives. Customers complimenting the staff on the consistency of the great food while getting up for more slices made for a friendly dialogue with the efficient staff that seemed to almost add something flavorful to the already impressive pizza.

The sausage, pepperoni, and peppers were lavishly spread over thick rich mozzarella. Pulling the slices away from your mouth while still connected by a rope of melted cheese is always a great sign. High quality ingredients prepared by a skilled staff made this lunchtime something to write about.

HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARD!!!

I ordered delivery from Libretto’s via Uber Eats. Part of the order was a slice of tiramisu. After taking a bite, I noticed there was a large, sharp piece of black plastic in my gums. It was cooked right into the cake and blended with the dark chocolate, so I didn’t notice until it was too late.

I reported the issue to Uber Eats but they refused to deal with the matter. A photograph of a piece of plastic outside of the cake apparently isn’t enough evidence that it was inside the cake before I bit into it.

It took a few hours to hear back from Uber, and by then the restaurant was closed. I called the next morning and the employee was rude and dismissive. He was angry that I first tried to deal with the issue through Uber instead of calling the restaurant directly. There’s nothing they can do, … I need to call back in a few days when the manager is there. All for a piece of cake under $10.

I highly recommend ordering from another one of the thousands of other pizza places nearby. This one has poor quality and...

At $3.45 for a cheese slice, it's quite pricey, even for this neighborhood and nyc in general ( $3 at Garlic and $2.75 at most others). That said though, it's a quality classic NYC style cheese slice and definitely distinguishable from the $1-2 pizza slices around the city that use cheaper sauces and cheeses. The dough is perfect in its pillowy yet crispy balance - if you're into pizza crusts, you know what I mean. The tomato sauce is more on the salty side, can barely taste the tinge of sweetness, so take note if you prefer sweeter sauces. Good amount of cheese on the slice. Would come back if I were hungry and didn't want to walk any further. I have to say though, compared to Garlic pizza on 2nd Ave or Lunettas on 20th street, this sauce lacks complexity of flavor. This all based on the classic cheese slice- not comparing the topping slices because that's definitely more variables and subject to all sorts of preferences and combinations.

Thin crush entirely too soggy like dough.. Did not cook the pizza long enough. Or this wasn't a fresh pie. Not enough cheese and the sauce is extremely thin. extremely too many black olives. So many you can smell Olive oil all over the pizza. it was a waste of $45.. Definitely will not order from this place again . Totally missing doughboys. I missed the doughboys pizza šŸ•.. This customer service that took this order, over the phone. was extremely rude. saying it's a Saturday and he's busy.. So busy that he's selling $50 pizza pies that tastes like garbage. like garbage .. I will never spend my money again... people think that they could treat you like anything and take your money.
