During a recent visit to Lucid Cafe, I had the opportunity to savor their exquisite latte while enjoying the ambiance of their outdoor seating area. While the latte was a delightful treat, my experience was marked by an unfortunate incident involving a fellow patron.

The star of the show was undoubtedly the latte I ordered at Lucid Cafe. Crafted with evident precision and care, this pricier option was a testament to the baristas' dedication to their craft. The smooth, velvety texture of the espresso combined with the perfectly steamed milk resulted in a rich and nuanced flavor profile. This latte alone would be reason enough for a return visit.

However, my peaceful moment of coffee indulgence was unexpectedly disrupted when a confrontation arose. As I sat outside enjoying my latte and occasionally vaping, a fellow patron who appeared to be quite agitated approached me. The individual's behavior quickly escalated into a heated exchange as he vocally expressed his displeasure regarding the vapor. The situation took an uncomfortable turn when his comments seemed to take a concerning tone. I'm normally unalarmed at people but this man seems as though he had the obligation of screaming at a complete stranger.

In response, I took out my phone to record the incident, and it was at this point that the individual seemed to reconsider his approach. His demeanor shifted, and he eventually walked away. I was taken aback by the encounter and found myself disappointed that such an incident could occur in a public space.

Despite this unsettling incident, the latte experience at Lucid Cafe remained a standout memory. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail in the preparation of their beverages is certainly commendable and sets them apart in the coffee scene.

In conclusion, my visit to Lucid Cafe was a mix of enjoyment and discomfort. The latte was a true testament to the dedication of the coffee house's baristas, and I would be inclined to return solely for the quality of their offerings. However, the encounter with the irate individual left a lasting impression that cannot be ignored. It is my hope that Lucid Cafe fosters an environment where patrons can enjoy their coffee in peace, free from unwarranted confrontations.

Absolutely superb flat whites every time. Consistent and handmade - no weighing, not thermometers. I love that in my bustling Midtown neighborhood this gorgeous wee cafe has become part of my urban family. Besides the fantastic coffee (as a New Zealander I feel I can pass judgement!) I just love the space, it's crammed and I feel like I'm entering my happy place when the bell on the door tinkles and the fairy lights are going and show tunes, or philharmonic or pop music is playing and I get such a cherry hello from the few staff I've gotten to know who've been there the last few years I've been going in, at least 4 times a week. AWEFUL. ZERO STAR! Don't trust the rate of the cafe!!! 4.5 is overrated!!!! The barista's behavior was incredibly inappropriate. Despite my request for more milk in my coffee, she added only a small amount, and when I asked for a little more, she murmured something in Korean and appeared visibly uncomfortable. Furthermore, her treatment of another employee who took my order was highly disrespectful, as she pushed the employee to use the point of sale system, creating an unpleasant and tense atmosphere. I was shocked by the barista's disrespect towards their employee.

So I will never visit this café again. This is my most awful cafe experience.
