My friend was roofied at this restaurant. Whether it be at the hands of the bartenders or someone sitting at the bar slipping stuff into drinks, she was roofied. My friend only had ONE drink and some hookah. After finishing her drink, she kept making comments about how she needed to take a nap. When we left and were heading back home, she fainted and fell backwards, hitting her head on the concrete. We carried her inside and she was unconscious for a bit. When she awoke, she was dizzy, and threw up and continually mentioned “I think something was in my drink”. Keep in mind she only had one drink. The next day she went to the doctors to have her head checked out because she got a huge bump from hitting it and they also tested her blood which came back positive for Rohypnol, which if you didn’t know is the medical term for roofies. In total, we were a party of five so I’m unsure if she was targeted but women are not safe at this location. Management needs to pay closer attention to what is happening to drinks being made at the bar as well as if drinks are left unattended at the bar waiting for a server to go run them. Thank god my friend was with us and not alone because who knows what predators are lurking waiting for a girl to stumble out of the restaurant alone.
Now I will provide an unbiased review despite the instances that occurred to my party.
I would not revisit nor recommend to others. Yes the interior is updated and nicely put together but there are plenty of other amazing Latin restaurants in the area where you can get authentic tasting tacos, quesadillas, Birria and more. To start, the service was extremely slow. We were there on a Saturday night yes, but the dining room was not full considering how long we waited for everything. Keep in mind everything took so long to arrive. I ordered the “Old New York” drink, which was supposed to taste of coconut. It looked as if it would taste like coconut, but upon tasting, it had no remnants of coconut and instead tasted like watered down liquor. I ended up sending it back and never reordered another drink. For appetizers, I got the chicken empanadas which were the only thing I’d say was good. They were small but crispy, well seasoned and paired with a nice sauce. As for entrees, I was entirely disappointed. I got the rice and beans and birria tacos with consume. The rice was painfully dry, lacked of any seasoning, even salt at the very least and just tasted like cilantro. Total miss. The beans were not good either. The birria tacos were so cheese heavy, there were moments I bit into nothing but cheese. I spent more time opening up the taco and removing the half melted cheese than I did eating it. Same went for the others at the table that ordered quesadillas. Whole bites where they are getting nothing but cheese!! The consume and Birria didn’t taste as authentic as I’d like and as stated above, there are plenty of other locations that specialize in...
Read moreI came here about two weeks ago wand the experience was so bad/annoying that I still had to circle back two weeks later even though it had already passed lol. So, my friends and I came here on a Sunday for a birthday brunch and as we were waiting by security to get in one of them pulls my friend and I aside to search our bags.. Prior to this we did see him go back and forth with a few females about their attire (they were properly dressed for brunch BTW) Anyway, as he’s searching our bag he’s rummaging and takes out candy and gum from my bag as a “thank you” to himself, he then proceeds to do the same to my friend but takes her vape instead.. when she’s asks can she get it back at the end of the night he says I’ll think about it and laughs. Weird lol . Our waitress was a sweetheart but she had a lot going on so we had to constantly remind her of orders, when to bring out bottles, cake, etc.. (also wanted to mention half of our party never got seated because they were out of chairs) About 30 minutes into our reservation my boyfriend who was running late came & was told he couldn’t come in at the door because his LINEN pants were not apart of dress code. (Meanwhile the reservation next to us had a man IN BASKETBALL SHORTS!!) He had to turn around and change to then STILL be charged at the door $40 “just cause”.. I asked to speak to the security in which his response was that’s his rules and we had to oblige.. (imagine hearing that from someone who won’t even ACKNOWLEDGE you or look at you in your face because his social media is more important than his service to his customers..) I then asked the waitress to direct me towards the manager who shrugged his shoulders and said I’ll try to see what I can do. Upon speaking to the security he said we charged him because your reservation had 13 people and it was originally for 11.. (Yet no one else at the reservation was charged but him.. people came after him..) Fast forward we did what we could but needless to say I will most likely never come back unless the staff fixes their attitude. They will definitely pick and choose who they want to give a...
Read moreI came here to celebrate my birthday. Overall I had a good time, I was with family and friends. The music, food and ambience were amazing! But, there were a few things I was not a fan of. First, the security outside making incredibly inappropriate comments to both myself and my guest as they were walking in and making some of the females feel uncomfortable. Secondly, I had a reservation set and two days before with time I let them know the change in people coming and they told me it was fine. When I got there, they didn’t have enough chairs at the table for my reservation, when I asked them to add the rest of the chairs for the reservation, they gave me small chairs when the tables were high tops and didn't even care. I didn’t appreciate that at all. Thirdly, although the food was good, it took a very long time to come out and also each plate came out about 10-15 minutes apart. Also, although I had a reservation they were trying to charge my boyfriend an entrance fee and he didn’t even come in late. After already charging him $50 for not having his physical ID, smh. Then one of my other guest that came was sent back to change because he had shorts, nowhere on their page or flyers does it mention a dress code, making him a bit late when he came back and then also charged him $40 to get in. I was never told there might be an entrance fee for anyone which I didn’t appreciate at all, their communication is bad. After telling him he’s part of my reservation they refused to return my guest his $40 and found that inappropriate. I had an amazing time because of my family and friends but that’s about it. Would I go back? Maybe depending if it’s someone’s bday and they want to celebrate there or to their...
