update Had the new breakfast burritos... Cats still love it. I can't wait for Pedro's new spot to open on fifth avenue.

update Cats love it too (take out of course)

Update

(3/26/2022) New item I found out on the menu: Taco Governador (sp?). A recipe unique to Sinaloa state of Mexico it is not your average Shrimp Taco (new picture uploaded) well seasoned shrimp with a good mix of fresh aromatics and peppers with a bit of queso on a house-made tortilla. Definitely worth a visit next weekend for a to go lunch to eat at Shore Park. (Fyi they make homemade, gluten free, tortillas that can make a shoe taste good)

I went there for breakfast today (mid March 2022 weekend) to try their new breakfast taco... Game Changer! It is a chorizo hash with scramble eggs on their HOME MADE TORTILLA!!! It also comes with a side salad too. Another must have on their menu 😁 (new pix uploaded).

Prior review: I have now gone there about 5 times... twice in the last week... To say I am sold is an understatement. This weekend I went there after a long walk along Shore Park for some Tamales (my fave are the Rajas btw). Pictured below is me making dinner with the Rajas and Oaxaca and a southwestern omelette. Today I went for lunch. I had the 4 taco special (Chorizo and Tinga) and my partner had the Beans/Eggs/Avocado/Queso on the softest bun you can imagine... The Chorizo done well with some dices potatoes and the tinga is flavorful... Best part is I was full without feeling stuffed or bloated. The bakery is also great. I feel the croissants are better than some other fancier bakeries, the pastries are good balanced sweet and buttery, and rolls are amazing for any sandwich. Highly recommend this place... Part of what I like to call the Bay Ridge...

Look no more for the most delicious and freshest Mexican bakery in the area! 🔥😍Everything is made fresh daily, and if you’re looking to satisfy both your sweet and savory tooth, this is it. To my surprise, this bakery makes more than just the widest selection of pan Mexicano and the moistest cakes. 🍰🍩They also makes delicious breakfast tacos with handmade tortillas, different variety of tamales, empanadas and tortas! The staff are just as sweet and welcoming, and make you feel at home. The bakery itself is super clean and organized, and they have two small benches inside to sit down and enjoy your tacos or a cafecito con pan. 😋👍🏼✨

Pictures below in order: 1- Sausage tacos with eggs, refried beans, avocado and a red sauce with the right amount of heat- DELISH. 2- ALL the bread you could want (not pictured are the fresh donuts showcased next to the counter) 3- Strawberry and chocolate cake, Cookies and crème, strawberry tres leches cakes. These were the spongiest and moistest cakes I’ve had in a long time. You could tell they’re made with love! 4- The bakery as soon as you walk in (not pictured are the two benches on each side of the entrance) 5- Chicken and beef empanadas!!! Perfectly crispy on the outside and all the savory goodness on the inside. Not pictured are the 4 types of tamales we ordered. I wish I had 3 stomachs to...

We had the pleasure of dining here tonight after having Mandato being reccomended by a friend. We showed up about an hour and a half before close on a Friday night. We walked by and saw no one inside so we browsed the block for our usual spots who were overflowing with people. We thankfully decided to stop and had an INCREDIBLE meal provided by the family at Mandato. We started off with (less than common to Bay Ridge) Victoria and Modelo Negra beers. We then ordered the enchiladas verdes con pollo y 3 orders of various tacos. While we waited, they kindly served us chips and salsa that hit every sweet, savory, and spicy note in one bite. The enchiladas were plentiful and drenched in a beautiful verde sauce. The tacos each carried their own unique and delicious flavor and tasted very fresh. Lastly, the rice and beans actually shined as a side dish rather than being lost in the meal. We have been to about every Mexican restaurant and Bay Ridge and Mandato definitely stands with the greats. This will absolutely be our new and AUTHENTIC go-to spot! If you haven't tried them yet, they deserve a visit; your stomach...

Exploring neighborhoods is a prime example of finding hidden treasure. Was looking for a place to eat and happened upon this wonderful gem. Cash only caught my eye (which is a great sign that money isn't not being wasted paying those credit card fees issued to businesses for their customer's convenience). Ordered the Molcajete platter with chicken, chorizo, skirt steak, pork chop and nopales (cactus..I had never before but oh yes will again. ((tastes like bell pepper)). This comes with warm tortillas rice and black beans and for some crunch < a major food group...lol> ordered two tostadas. This meal was extremely tasty and spicy in that lip tingly way.. oh yeaaa. So please Go and Enjoy!
